Great, funny, fresh. Get tix NOW! Review by: joanf, Mar 10, 2011 |
A riot! If you're a fan of South Park you will be rewarded. If you're a fan of spot on, smart, irreverant, obscene, sweet, stupid, and non stops laughs you will be rewarded. Those boys can write a musical too. Sheesh! Get tix fast. This will be the one to see. |

Do Not Miss this Hysterical Show Review by: Little Shop Person, Mar 7, 2011 |
| I went to see "The Book of Mormon" this evening. It was ribald, profane, blasphemous, shocking, irreverent, AND THE BEST THING I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS. Kudos to the incredible cast and creative staff of this terrific musical. The audience could not wait to leap to their feet at the end. Casey Nicholaw...you are a genius. |

Deliriously, hysterically offensive. Review by: MW, Mar 2, 2011 |
| Is it offensive - well, only if you've got a sacred cow or two... nothing is safe. Is it funny? You bet - one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. It's also a really well-crafted two-act book musical - which builds an engaging story line to then propels the jokes and situations. |

Great Show Review by: pepsiplease, Feb 26, 2011 |
| OMG just got back from seeing this show. Funny , funny , funny. At one point was acutally crying with laughter. Just one warning if you are a prude the show might offend you. But best show I've seen this year. Would go to see again. |

It's a hit ! Review by: EastSider, Feb 25, 2011 |
First, a word of warning. It is important that one sees the Book of Mormon on an empty stomach and extremely well hydrated. The paroxysms of laughter and tearing will be painful otherwise. The Book of Mormon comes from the creators of South Park and Avenue Q and treats the subject with all the tender respect that one would hope might arise from these combined perverse talents. The story itself follows an "odd couple” of young ... read more Morman missionaries fresh from their training program in Salt Lake City on their mission to Uganda. As one might expect it takes every opportunity to show up the somewhat problematic premises upon which the Mormon (and in fact many, if not all) religion is based. The juxtaposition of the prototypical always cheerful and optimistic clean-cut Mormon missionary with the poverty disease and violence of this part of Africa also makes great fodder for the writer’s carefully aimed comedy. The music while somewhat derivative is zippy, pure Broadway toe tapping tunes. The dance numbers are beautifully executed and while the choreography is hardly Swan Lake, it is more than exciting enough to keep the audience clapping and screaming. My advice is don't wait for the reviews and the official "opening". This is going to be a hit on the order of the Producers (although it may not tour too far west of the Hudson) and will soon be one of the most difficult tickets to get in the city.
