Rent videos of the TV show Review by: Theatrelover, Sep 13, 2010 |
The Cast (which is universally taltented) try really, really REALLY hard to put over what is otherwise a very lame book. The most interesting part of the performance for me was watching how they manipulated the curtains to create different scene areas. Before I even left the theatre, I couldn't have hummed two measures of ANY song. This was a forgetable experience. Go see just about anything else (or be prepared to be ... read more completely underwhelmed!) And by the way I saw more than one parent who had brought their under 12 age children squirm at the language and not so subtle sexual references. |

Very Enjoyable Review by: YankeeFan, Sep 8, 2010 |
| While the show was supremely silly and will never be considered a "classic", I found the cast to be great, the music surprisingly catchy and tuneful, and the show quite hilarious. I had a good time, and found it to be thoroughly enjoyable. It's no "Billy Elliot", but as long as you check your brain at the door, you'll have fun, and it seemed as if the cast was having a great time, as well. |

No Heavy Messages--Pure Entertainment Review by: Carol, Sep 7, 2010 |
| The critics' mediocre reviews of this show were far off the mark. It's a night of pure fun and entertainment. The staging, costumes, and special effects are delightful and capture the macabre humor in a thin plot. Bebe Neuwirth's talents as a dancer are put to good use in her solo. Nathan Lane hits his stride as a comedic actor. However, the stand-out in the play is Jackie Hoffman as Grandma. For a great night of theater, see the play and ... read more its outstanding cast. |

Nate is great!! Review by: Will always love Nathan, Sep 3, 2010 |
| Nathan Lane is always a delight, Bebe is still a fantastic dancer and looks great. They have great chemistry. Jackie Hoffman is always a hoot and did not disappoint. The songs are fine. No humming on the way out of the theater. Would have liked to see them snap, however. Altogether a fun time. |

A Wasted Night Review by: barbe, Aug 25, 2010 |
| This was a terrible show. I was embarrassed for the senior performers. The music was forgettable and the plot absurd for those who follow the Addams Family. Not worth the money!! |

Good fun Review by: orange wildcat, Aug 23, 2010 |
| nice, light musical comedy. if you have not seen nathan lane chew up lines and make the most of slightly above average material, this is a good one to see as he makes the most of what he has to work with. We saw the show a couple of days ago, and i can not recall any of the music, except of course the snappy, catchy opening notes of the theme song. Overall, a fun night, will leave you with a smile on your face but not a song in your heart. |

Not so much Review by: cruisejoy, Aug 16, 2010 |
We really wanted to like this production, but really did not. We felt that there was no substance but a lot of "cheap" laughs. Nathan Lane was great, but that wasn't enough for us. |

Solid show--nothing amazing, but a fun experience Review by: CloverCat, Aug 11, 2010 |
| I completely agree with SweetDave's review. Exactly as he said, the show is good for some laughs, the production values are great, the cast is very solid, and the score is okay. That said, I think the earlier reviews with their endless exclamation points are a little over the top. I didn't sense anything epic or truly amazing about this show or the music (it's not a Phantom or Les Miz), nothing pioneering (it's not a Hair or Rent), and ... read more nothing that's particularly drawing me back for a second show. It's just fun and enjoyable. Could a show aspire to be more? Of course. But if you're content to enjoy a fun, fairly mindless night of laughs and songs, The Addams Family is a pretty good choice. |

In And Out Of Towners Review by: Bosco, Jul 30, 2010 |
I grew up with the TV show and loved the movies. I'm a native New Yorker, not a Park Ave. posey. My wife has been dragging to Broadway shows for years, it's really not my thing,...but...this time it's different, you guys really got it right. This Broadway show is something special, I feel it can only get better as it spans the test of time. The out of towners, who came with my wife and I, fell in love with The Family. I ... read more have a funny feeling we'll all be back to see "IT". Kevin

An extremely pleased audience Review by: Enjoying New York, Jul 29, 2010 |
Nathan Lane and BeBe Neuwirth were both present and excellent. This play was quite funny and entertaining. This matinee was filled with teenagers from summer camps and they loved it. The applause from the audience spoke volumes as to how pleased we all were with this performance. A great summer afternoon adventure.

It was cute, but didn't blow me away Review by: SweetDave, Jul 27, 2010 |
| Nothing about this show blew me away. Every single actor played their role to the fullest, and I really laughed pretty much the whole show, its extremely funny. The sets are amazing, the songs are weak, and the story, ive seen it all before (meet the parents). The positives are its funny and somewhat entertaining. But its nothing i'm rushing back to see again. I probably would see it again, but its not first on my list and I wouldn't pay ... read more full price again, but I will say it was worth seeing Nathan Lane on stage. |

MUST SEE Review by: mvhokie, Jul 23, 2010 |
| I went to Addam's Family not knowing what to expect, but I came out LOVING IT! It was laugh-out-loud funny, a great family show, and would definitely see it again! Grandma, Uncle Fester, and Gomez were hilarious cast members and made the show great! GO SEE ADDAM'S FAMILY! You won't be disappointed! |
