| I loved it. Go see it before it closes. Danny Burstein is fabulous and it's a wonderful production. The 97 minutes goes by very quickly and its message is as relevant today and when it was first doen int he 80's. |

To enjoy Talley's Folly one has to understand the play was written in the 80's and takes place in the 40's. A modern audience will strain a bit to believe that the beautiful Sarah Paulson is an undesirable old maid, but its a critical part of the plot. Once you get over that, this is a first-rate production with two astonishing performers. They do such a good job that you will keep peeking around the corner of the set to try to get a glimpse ... read more of characters in the plot that are discussed but never actually appear on stage.
Just a bit too long- perhaps ten minutes less would be perfect. |

| For anyone who loves the play or saw the brilliant original production with Judd Hirsch and Trish Hawkins, this will feel like a DISASTER. Two good actors lost at sea....Matt hectors and bullies Sally and you wonder why she stays. There's no seductive charm, just yelling. Her hidden love for him is completely invisible, so lacking in nuance that when she confesses you're likely to go, "Huh?"
