Review of "Stomp" Review by: Red, Sep 22, 2012 |
Clap your hands! The interplay with the audience and the performers during the performance of "STOMP' was entertaining, fun and exciting. 'STOMP' will sweep you away. Such physical grace stomping with mundane things which uniquely created sound effects that were rhythmical, upbeat and in sync. The performance was wild and zany with a touch of play. How did the director ever come up with such an idea to use such everyday objects to create ... read more such exciting sounds, bells, bangs, boom... amazing! Kudos to the choreographer and the performers for an awesome production. For me, the time passed so quickly, and when it was over I left the theatre wanting to stomp and dance. So will you. by Vincent J. Tomeo |

Unique and Different Review by: mikeb, Feb 9, 2012 |
This is different. It is in a small theatre in a neat area on 2nd avenue in NYC. The performance is really something else. I am not a big fan of percussion music, but this had me ENTHRALLED! And the noise level is bearable, in other words you don't come out with fractured ear drums. There is no dialogue, but there is comedy throughout. IT's FUN!! |

Gotta LUV STOMP Review by: mad5186, May 12, 2010 |
| LOVE THIS SHOW!! We have been to see it a few times & have taken our kids, nephews, nieces, & older relatives. Everyone loves it. It is tons of fun. There is no real story line to follow so even the younger kids enjoy it. It's funny, up-beat & in my opinion perfect for all ages. |

AMAZING SHOW!!!!! Review by: cutie77, May 27, 2008 |
| This show was spectacular! It was very interesting and I never got bored. It is very loud but you can take it. The rhythm was great though. It was funny too. I didn't see one bad thing. I would recomed it to ages 8-80. Please see it, you would do a favor for yourself. |

The Poor Man's Blue Man Group Review by: DoctorJoeE, May 7, 2008 |
If percussion instruments interest you (or you think they might if you knew more about them), you will enjoy Stomp. This is percussion performance art -- the poor man's Blue Man Group. There is no dialog, only percussive compositions using everyday household items in ways that most people would never conceive of to make oodles of interesting sounds in oodles of interesting rhythm combinations. Some pieces are prepared, some appeared to ... read more be improvised (and thus are probably different every night). All are fascinating. Look elsewhere for plot, story line, character development, and deep moral messages, but for an evening of pure rhythmic entertainment, this is your show. |

Show ten, atmosphere 0 Review by: , Apr 6, 2008 |
| The show was great with wonderful audience participation. The theater was hot, dusty and extremely small. I had to go out for air. The ushers were extremely rude and mixed up our seats. We were a group of 53 and they didn't want to let us sit in the seats that were on our tickets. The usher screamed at us to sit where ever he told us to sit. There was one working tiolet for the women and a long line. |

A fun night at Stomp! Review by: Guapa, Dec 26, 2007 |
| A loud, entertaining, original performance. Great for all ages. The theatre is small, so cheap seats at the back are just fine. Warning, the seats are small and tight. If you are over 6 feet, larger than average, you will not fit in the seats. |

Fun show!! Review by: , Oct 24, 2007 |
| This was a great show. The theatre is small, so it seems no seats would be bad seats. We sat in the orchestra, Row N, and we were plenty close. I don't even think we would have wanted to be any closer, as it gets loud. My eight year old, who doesn't sit through much, enjoyed it immensely. It is so unique and there is alot of comedy and audience participation. Definitely recommend. |

Long and Loud! Review by: bagur, Oct 20, 2007 |
| The show was incredible for the first 25 minutes. As the show progressed i found myself dosing off but the banging kept me awake. I would not recomened anyone to pay the money to see this show after my experience. But, if you enjoy people running around and banging on household materials, you should go see it for yourself. Overall, it was okay. I would definately not see it again. |

Loved it! Review by: Frosty, Jul 13, 2007 |
| I loved this show! Saw it twice already, but will see it again with my 14 year old daughter. In order to enjoy this show, you'll really need to enjoy percussion rhythm and beats as the whole show is about making music/rhythm by using regular household items in various ways to create a unique sound. It does get a bit loud as they bang away on metal garbage cans and such. |

Everyone Should See This Review by: JB, Jan 15, 2007 |
I LOVED it!!!! They played music on everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink. There was alot of energy in the movement. And it was funny -- and they made it seem like they weren't even trying to be be funny. Only caveat -- if you're allergic to dust and/or don't like loud noise, sit in the balcony.

Fantastic show to impress all children, tweens, teens, and adults of all ages! Review by: Lord Nicholas, Oct 6, 2006 |
| This IS a MUST see! The theater is small, but the show is outstanding! Very loud percussions, constant movement and surprising non-vocal music as the cast plays everything from tire rims to the kitchen sink (literally). Comedy is subtle, but easily recognized. Absolutely a must for family entertainment in NYC. Kids of all ages will love the show. Probably not enjoyable for very small children as volume is very high.... read more. Great for teens and tweens! I plan on taking a group of high schoolers. Cabs are rather hard to come by after the performance. |
