Annoying Clowns and Dust Review by: GothProf, Sep 13, 2006 |
| Ohhh Poo! The most annoying evening I have spent in the theater in years! The last ten minutes are dazzeling, but the first 40 are just stupifying. a major yawn here- |

A waste of time, and money. Review by: Eric, Sep 5, 2006 |
The clowns are not funny and actually it was quite insulting to see the following: The costumes were raggy and torn and used in every act. The make-up was very poorly applied. The clown stands in the middle of the stage squeezing his fingertips for approximately 5 minutes doing nothing else. Just not funny. It was very disappointing. We had 2nd row and could not wait to leave. As soon as the intermission light came on, we bolted. ... read more I heard very few chuckles from the crowd. There was no "magic" no "pizazz" and overall, I was upset that I spent the money on the tickets. We were so bummed, we cancelled the rest of our city plans that afternoon and just went home. I would really stay away from the show. The advertisements, commercials, and anything saying SIMILARITY TO CIRQUE DE SOLEIL should be DISREGARDED. It was just an awful experience. |

Wonderful from beginning to end! Don't miss this one! Review by: Mary, Aug 31, 2006 |
| Slava's Snowshow offers a performance that makes you laugh, feel, and hold your breath. It is visually wonderful, musically moving, and emotionally intense. My husband and I took our niece and nephew, ages 10 and 13. They were mesmerized, and couldn't stop talking about the experience. Don't miss this one! It will leave you smiling! |

"Feel good" show -- must see!!! Review by: Mrs. P., Jul 18, 2006 |
Wow - what an amazing performance! It surpassed all of my expectations. This show should really be on Broadway. It is the most delightful show I've seen in a very long time. Simply OUTSTANDING and a show I would love to see again. It was the highlight of my visit to NY! |

"Slava's Noshow" Review by: Flash, Jul 13, 2006 |
| Very disappointing afternoon at the theatre- We found show so uninspiring and tedious that we left after the first act- Showering the audience with water and confetti is really old hat by now- While several other reviews sing the praises of the grand finale, getting there requires lots of perseverance !!!- We decided that it would be more appropriate to call this show "Slava's Noshow"!!!- Don't waste your time or your money on this show!!! |

Slava's Surprise!! - I loved it!! Review by: MiamiCarlos, Jun 18, 2006 |
| I went to this show last year (July 2005) and I actually thought this show was going nowhere in the first half of the show, but much to my surprise - it became entertaining an show beyond belief!! I was sitting in the front row with my girlfriend...and we both thought the same - that the show (based on the 1st half) was simply a "children's show". But after that second half took place it became a show for ALL! I remember looking around the ... read more theater several times and seeing the reaction on people's faces! They were all lit up and bright with smiles. Everyone in the theater became participants of the show - it's no wonder they left all that action for the end. I live in Miami, Florida, and I am going to visit NY again this year in late July AND I am planning on seeing Slava's Snowshow again (with my nephew this time) - I keep looking at Broadway.Box's alerts for any discounts for the show - they always have some sort of discount! Anyway, enjoy the show I highly recommend it!! |

Great for kids Review by: ZMom, Jun 13, 2006 |
| Would be a lot of fun for kids 8 and under. A bit tedious after a while for adults. Performers are excellent and energetic, some parts are very funny. |

Review by: Vicky, Mar 26, 2006 |
| Our family loves Cirque du Soliel so this seemed like it would be an entertaining show. My 10 year old son and husband went with me. The plot lines were very difficult to understand and I am sure the younger children in the audience were lost. It was definately not funny as the clowns in Cirque du Soliel are. We would have left before it ended but were in the front row and did not want to be rude. |

Review by: MisterOpinion, Feb 1, 2006 |
This has been running in New York for several years, and will probably run for several more. (It begins its San Francisco run in March.) Slava Polunin is a legendary Russian clown, but this show has more in common with Cirque du Soleil than it does with Bozo or Krusty. Almost entirely wordless, “Snowshow” relies deeply on archetypes -- and therefore an assumption that we can understand the sort of motives and desires archetypal ... read more characters may exhibit. Much is exaggerated here: the joy is rapturous and the struggles are monumental – the first scene begins with a clown walking on stage, a noose around his neck. That should be your first clue that this is not necessarily a nice clown show. It’s loud – extremely loud at times – and you may be buffeted by winds, squirted with water, trod upon and toyed with emotionally. So be warned. (Don’t worry, it’s nothing you can’t handle.) But there’s a definite dark streak to the clown’s interactions with front row patrons. That said, “Slava’s Snowshow” is quite a spectacle: celebratory and communal and even a bit awe-inspiring. |
