Extremely Entertaining and a Great Day Out! Review by: NurseChris254, Nov 3, 2011 |
| Show this show on snowy October 30 and was almost tempted not to go. Boy was I glad I braved the weather! Loved it! Wasn't expecting alot considering the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Found myself smiling and tapping my toes during the entire performance. After the curtain calls the cast delivered one last song to a very enthusiastic crowd. A very pleasant outing without vulgarity or cursing. Bring the whole family. |

Good fun! Review by: NYCer, Oct 31, 2011 |
| I went to see this show yesterday and loved it. It was hysterical from beginning to end and the cast was awesome. The roles of Delores and Mother Superior were played by understudies and they were great. I would definitely recommend it. |

I Would Pass Review by: Chubby Theater Goer, Oct 27, 2011 |
| This is a fun and sweet show. If anything, I say it has heart. But the script is very weak and the music just ok. I remember the music is actually better in the movie? The main actress gives a great effort but she doesn't seem like a pro like Whoopi. I think if you saw the movie, there is nothing really new here. In fact, the movie is a lot better. Contrast this to The Lion King Broadway show which has a lot more new and interesting ... read more things to offer other than the story from the cartoon. Needless to say, that The Lion King wouldn't still be running right now if it was anything like this show. I cannot imagine this show continuing any longer because I never seen so many empty seats in my life. The theater inside is quite an eyesore and one of the cheapest looking theaters that I've ever visited. |

| Entertaining show. If you saw the movie, you know the story, and it is a good story. Music is good, not great. Comedy is very good. I would recommend it to anyone who just wants to see a fun show. |

| A fun night at the theater! It isn't the best show out there (if you only have time for 1 show see something else) but you will enjoy it. The acting isn't the best (cast seems to fly through dialogue to get to songs) but the musical numbers are great. The shows goes too far over the top at the end but still good. |

If we had more to choose from, we would have gone to see something else. Review by: the8rnut, Sep 19, 2011 |
Why is there nothing original on Broadway anymore (excluding Book of Mormon, which is impossible to get tickets for)? While I would prefer an original show to one of these, we went because we do like the movie and while the show is enjoyable, there are major problems. What I knew and loved about the movie was nonexistent in this show. I can't stand when they do this--apparently taking movies and adding music to them sells, but it's lazy. ... read more There was nothing original the week we went, either revivals, shows with music you know (Mamma Mia, Priscella, etc.) or Movies-Turned-Musicals. Granted, it was fun--the character of Eddie made me smile big!--but the character of Deloris (while she was good, even if over-the-top and pushing it a bit) was really glammed up, nothing like the struggling girl from the movie, and the 3 main nuns were so watered down when Sister Mary Patrick, Sister Mary Robert and Mother Superior were a major and delightful part of the story. Add in 3 goons of Curtis's (who did their jobs well, don't get me wrong) and apparently you have a show. The two songs in the movie were completely out, and they should have been in. Most of the music numbers the nuns did were TOO much. The sweetness they did with "I Love Him" and "My God" were gone, and I missed it. Also--this movie was set in the 70s disco era yet they HAD to find the place to add in a rap song (and not old underground stuff that Blondie did, but new YEAH YEAH BOYZ type) and wayyyyyy to many sequins on too many things that had no right to have sequins on. We had fun, but if we had had more to choose from in the first place, we wouldn't have seen this show. Please, Broadway, do an original show every now and then! |

If you haven't seen it yet or read some negative reviews here - do yourself a favor and run to get the discounted tickets - you won't be sorry! i'm DEF going to see this ... read more show again and am going to recommed it to everyone I know! Big thank you to the cast and the producers :) |

Sheer Joy from start to finish!!! Review by: Shar1116, Sep 6, 2011 |
| Wasn't too excited about seeing "another musical" with a friend from out of state, but just loved every minute of it. Patina Miller owns the stage, Victoria Clark (Mother Superior) plays her part perfectly and sings great, Fred Applegate does a super job on the Monsignor and the cast of nuns just can't be said enough about. You get to know their personalities and love each one of them. I'd go back again in a hearbeat. I am a good ... read more Catholic and think this is great for any age to see. |

May I have a refund? Review by: texastraveller, Jul 28, 2011 |
| Before I went to my first Broadway musical several years ago, I remember thinking that I was about to see performers chosen from the largest talent pool in the world. I have now attended a handful of shows and at least half of them have been disappointing, leaving me with the feeling that Broadway is sometimes more about marketing than excellence. "Sister Act" was one of the disappointments. The performers are talented,... read more, but the songs are forgettable and I was continually aware that the lead actress was reciting lines rather than becoming her character. I was bored. |
