Silence...high camp laughing and enjoyment Review by: Diract 66, Apr 30, 2013 |
| I was surprised that I enjoyed this show as much as I did. In fact, the whole audience laughed out loud many times. It is a very camp production, everyone overacted to the limit , as they should have done. Yes, there is a very offensive song, using the C word loud and clear over and over again. If you are offended, you can get over it quick enough and relax and enjoy this high camp show with pleasant songs and very good acting. |

What a WASTE of TIME AND MONEY!!!! Review by: Bored Stiff, Feb 10, 2013 |
| WOW!!! What a WASTE of TIME AND MONEY!!!! I saw this show because it got lots of great reviews and was supposed to be side splitting FUNNY. Was I surprised!!! I had a seat in the front row and instead of laughing I fell asleep twice during the show. It took all of me to stay awake during the show. I think the lead female that played Clarise saw me dose of on several occasions throughout the show. I should have saw "Forbidden Broadway" I would ... read more have had a better time. I saw the show as part of the 20at20 promotion and I am so glad that i only had to part with $20 for this piece of trash show. Don't go not worth it Only go if you don't mind being BORED and hearing a song about smelling C---ts and hearing the "F" bomb more times that i would have liked to hear. I'm not a prude in anyway but if your going to use curse words in a show (Broadway or off-broadway) please make sure it is at least used in a FUNNY way not just to shout it out for no good reason. |

a nice chianti Review by: grammywaa, Apr 13, 2012 |
If you like the c-word, you'll like this a lot. If you don't really care for that word you'll still like it. But if you like the c-word this is absolutely the play for you. Alright so as a probably too young kid, this was one of (if not) the first movies I had ever seen at a movie theater. And now, it's one of my most awkward stories as an adult. As should be expected. Still, it's stuck with me for a long time and, despite the fact ... read more my taste in films is a tad more reserve, it's a classic. The show is billed as a comedy and my mind wandered on the possibilities in the hours before the show. Despite this my mind was still blown, to use an early '90s euphemism. It was everything I hoped for plus gratuitous use of the c-word...worth every penny. To be honest, the lead's voice pushed a little too "Clarice" and the absurdity hits you pretty quick at the show's open. Fortunately the film's story arcs are well maintained and the silly breaks are wonderfully spaced between sharp homages to the original. Remember the iconic opening jog? How about Clarice rolling under a defectively jacked door? It's not for kids. It's not for your new fiance's mother (or if it is, nice). With some friends and few drinks, it's near perfect. Careful, the bathroom situation is kinda lame and the intermission is short. Be on time. There are stairs.

Seasoned visitor from Ohio loved Silence! Review by: Jim in Ohio, Feb 18, 2012 |
| We are 67 and 63 marrieds from Ohio who visit NYC three or four times a year. Couldn't get "mormon" tickets and this Silence! in the east village looked interesting. $12 cab from midtown. Many locals restaurants and bars in area. Paid full price for Silence! on Sat night in advance on computer. Full house. We loved this musical. It followed the SOL plot closely, with singing and dancing of course, and good humor. The ... read more Lector actor had a bit of menace, and the dancing lambs were a fun touch. Not a luxe theater space (only two single toilets for 128 goers) Beer and wine are readily available. A more fun night for $59 than for twice that in midtown. |

| I saw this show last weeeknd and laughed the entire time. WARNING: IT IS VERY ADULT WITH A LOT OF ADULT LANGUAGE!! If you do not like that kind of a show, don't go. if you do, you will enjoy this show. The set and costumes are basic but the acting and music is great. A fun show. |
