| The opening seemed promising, but then the show went on and on and on and on and on. This is a white washed parable. I was personally offended that such a beautiful story, with the possibilities of using touches from the culture that inspired it was left as sort of a middle class high school project. Clearly manufacture by people who think on the safe side of the line. There is no risk in it. |

| Sidd is quite a good show. The acting was excellent, particularly Gerry McIntyre in his role as the Ferryman, Arthur Marks wherever he appears, Natalie Cortez as Mala, and Dann Fink as Willie. The minimalist staging, while irritating at times, lends an almost transcendent air to certain parts of the show, adding to the viewers concentration on the characters. The script still seems to need a little work, and seems to have ... read more difficulty linking the plot together at certain points, particularly early on in Act I, making it difficult to get into the show. However, Act II is well worth the slight difficulties the play starts off with. Note that the show requires a certain suspension of belief, as when Sidd goes from the Ancient Indian countryside to a city reminiscent of 30's Chicago, complete with bowler hats, glitz, and swanky salespeople. Some of the weaker songs detract from the experience slightly, but the more memorable ones, namely "Everybody Needs Something" "Happy Shop" "Working Man's Shuffle" and "Lessons," add to the experience immensely. Again I stress, however, that you must be willing to accept the unreal as real for a time. Did they have suitcases in Ancient India? Did merchants in those days smoke cigars? Of course not! Put that from your mind, and enjoy the show. |

What a wonderful musical. I cried and I laughed. The actors each who play multiple roles were great. There were moments that were electric. What a wonderful evening. Go see it |

| I was blown away! Music, choreography, and the story overall were phenomenal. For anyone with children it is particularly touching and meaningful. A great book and even better modern day rendition. I was thoroughly impressed and would undoubtedly recommended it to anyone. |
