Funny and Harrowing Evening of Theater Review by: Crunchkin, Mar 14, 2012 |
| Terrific acting and a good story make this an exciting, sometimes funny, and often harrowing evening of theater. Rather amazingly, the characters speak in Russian for a good 10% of the dialogue, but you are so intimate with this family, that you don't even miss the English . . and it all happens very fast! Brilliant performances all around, great set. |

Review by: V.K., Feb 21, 2012 |
| This story would make sense 20-30 years ago during "Soviet Time". Yes, there are families like that now days living in Brooklyn, but come-on, the Russian-Jewish immigrants are much more successful than that in general. I think this play, despite good acting, does not give any kind of lesson and does not reflect reality in broad sense. What kind of statement is it trying to convey? Russian-Jewish immigrants are all sensitive losers or criminals ... read more or what? Also, the description must provide some kind of parental guidens ratings. I attended the play with kids and did not enjoy constant cursing in both English and Russian. |

Disappointing Review by: Jenya, Feb 14, 2012 |
| Russian transport is by far the worse play i have ever seen in my life. Plot makes absolutely no sense and feels like an author has no idea what is she writing about. Psychotic mother, who concentrates on her daughter obtaining a good education but is willing to throw her own son under the bus just to get out of debt. Spineless father, who pretends that he has no idea what his son is doing once Boris arrives, while, he was involved ... read more in the scheme back home?! Father, who drinks vodka with his 17-year old son, just before his son is scheduled to go drive a car service car (for family’s struggling business). Seriously, this is outrageous and stupid but most importantly absolutely unbelievable. Who thought these actors Russian language? Their pronunciation is horrible and sounds more like they speak Polish than Russian. This play cannot and should not be taken seriously but I still feel uncomfortable thinking that some people might project the image of this dysfunctional screwed up family on Russian people in general. |

Great drama! Well worth seeing! Review by: Brooklyn Bound, Jan 22, 2012 |
| Five minutes in I felt as if I was in the house with the family. The characters are so believable and the excellent acting provided great energy. Wonderful set. My heart was pounding for an hour afterwards! |
