2 Thumbs Up! Review by: Jen T., Mar 1, 2010 |
| I was reluctant to see this show - I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it, since I'm not a big "Rock" fan. Well, was I in for a great surprise! The show was FUN! There was energy amongst the crowd - that similarly found at a concert venue. The singing was phenomenal and the humor was hysterical! I do not recommend this show for children - the women are scantily clad like 80s Rock-groupies (that includes bare behinds). But it's a great show to ... read more go see with a group of friends! |

Go and ENJOY! Review by: Pete, Feb 26, 2010 |
Have no idea what the show was about (didn't matter really) but it was so much fun!! Took my girlfriend who worked for Chrysalis Records, back in the day, and had such wonderful time going down memory lane. This show could run forever. Mitchell Jarvis stole the show!! |

Great Show, Unfriendly usher Review by: , Feb 14, 2010 |
| thought the show was magnificant!!! I absolutely loved it. Great music. I really enjoyed singing a long to all the familiar 80's tunes. I loved the way the theater was set up like a club and you were even able to get drinks ordered to your seat. One thing that I need to mention is that the ushers in the Brooks Atkinson theater are extremely nasty, and rude, and really should know how to deal with people in a professional manner. |

A Rock-Out-Loud 80s Spectacular Review by: quizking101, Feb 6, 2010 |
The entire cast was magnificicent (Hats off to breakout star Mitchell Jarvis as Lonny). The songs chosen helped carry the storyline (which, I admit, was weak, but I didn't expect much) were amazing! Of course, it was an 80s setting and vulgarity was plenty, but not bad enough as to offend the common man who knew the 80s culture. Go see this glam rock spectacular and enjoy having your face melted! |

better each time I go back! Review by: toto, Jan 18, 2010 |
| Simply loved this show! virtually no plot to concentrate on, so you spend two hours loving the rock ballad clips and the hilarious comedy that all come together to make Rock of Ages a definite have-to-see. Bought another set of tickets for near future performance right after the show this past Saturday!!! Can't get enough...in two words: "ROCK ON!!" |

amazing Review by: dee, Jan 7, 2010 |
| i went with one of my girlfriends after hearing rave reviews about the show and atmosphere. Heres the thing, the 80's were raunchy, loud, in your face. the idea of the show is to feel like you are at a rock concert, so i dont know why people who don't like this type of atmosphere would go. it was an all around good time, and i would definitely go back to see it. i'm an 80's baby, and it definitely hilighted what it was like in the 80's. ... read more if you arent into loud party life, go see the phantom. if youw ant to go, have a good time and enjoy great acting and sining- this is definitely for u! |

Loved it. Review by: carolinagirl, Jan 6, 2010 |
| I saw the show in October and loved it. It was exactly what I expected and more. I am older and it did remind me so much of the fun we had in that era. Other than the obnoxious drunk beside of me, everyone else around me was just having a good time. Would definitely go back to see it. Constantine will sign the playbill on the street after the show. It was awesome having my picture taken with him, even at my age. It is not ... read more what I would consider a true Broadway play, it is much more. |

THIS SHOW ROCKS Review by: vinman13, Jan 2, 2010 |
| This show ROCKS. It made me feel like I was in high again. I would recommend it to anyone who grew up in the 80s. My 14 year old daughter loved it also. Defiantly a let your hair down fun play on Broadway. |

Highly inappropriate for young teens Review by: , Dec 27, 2009 |
| Highly inappropriate for young teens. At TKTS booth, they tell you that kids should be at least twelve. My kids are twelve and fourteen and have already seen Hair,Avenue Q and La Cage aux Folles without problems despite mature themes and situations. They both hated Rock of Ages and I was very sorry we brought them there. Even the opening announcements of this show use unnecessarily inappropriate language and the story goes downhill ... read more from there. We left the show at intermission--the first time I have ever done that in more than thirty years of theatre-going. The main female character has perhaps one of the most demeaning roles I have ever seen on Broadway. |

Second Time Is The Charm Review by: Lisa, Dec 19, 2009 |
| Saw Rock of Ages for a second time. I actually had orchestra seats the first time and this time I was in the rear mezzanine. Although the seats were better the first time being in about the 5th row orchestra it was a different perspective of the show sitting in the back. I enjoyed it. When we walked in they gave us all little flash lights that look like cigeratte lighters to add to the concert atmosphere. The show is cute and mad funny. The cast ... read more is all phenominal especially the narrator of the show. It was the same cast I saw the first time except for the girl who played Sherri. I love Frances! The story is light-hearted and it's really not a typical broadway story. However, the music and humor makes the show what it is. Along with the great acting and dancing! The show had so much energy. I'd say leave kids under 16 home for it for it's intended for a mature audience. During some of the songs a lot of the audience had their cigeratte flash lights up making it seem like a concert. However, my one complaint is that this is one theater where food and drinks are allowed inside the theater. Throughout the show it was annoying because people everywhere were getting up to get food and drinks. Plus there are venders walking up and down selling drinks (adding to the concert atmosphere) but it got annoying. Upbeat, fun, hysterical, with good costumes and good audience interaction. Not sure if I enjoyed it more this time or last, both were different experiences. I would recommend this show to you as long as you don't go into it expecting a "typical" broadway show. There is no original music instead the cast performs hits from the 80s. |

put me 'off' rock Review by: baby please dont go, Dec 14, 2009 |
| I saw this show with girlfriends - one who had seen it before - 80's music, fun was how it was described. In the second half that was true, but to sit through through the shock of the first half was like torture. Kept closing my eyes. Shocked to see this kind of thing on Broadway. So, no thanks, didnt find it funny, such a shame cause most of the rest of the show is fabulous. Dont take young teens to the evening performace, or you'll have ... read more to answer a few question afterwards. If I hadnt paid so much for the ticket, I would have walked out during the first 15 minutes. |
