If you like 80's rock, then see this show!

A few risque moments/costumes for younger kids, but my 13 & 15 yr-old boys loved the show! They knew most of the songs, and having the rock band on stage was awesome!

What a blast!

We saw four plays in New York this past week. This was the best of the bunch - probably the most fun I've had in a theatre in years. Is the story much? Nah! But the band rocks, the leads can sing; the dancers can dance and the music is awesome. All in all a great night of theatre. The crowd was on its feet at the end. I recommend this show highly! (Keep in mind, if it was a movie, it would be rated R because of language and ... read more sexual situations. For teens, it is appropriate.

Don't miss this gem of a show.

Loved, loved, loved, loved this show. Saw ROA on June 6, 2009 and have not stopped thinking about it and singing the songs. Although Constantine M. was not in the performance we saw, the actor that played his character (Drew)was amazing. This play was so much fun. I can't wait to see it again and again and again!

I saw six shows along with Rock of Ages while in NYC and this show was by far the best. The announcement at the beginning of the show was even entertaining. Every single joke in this show was hilarious. The placement and arrangement of 80's rock songs was ingenious. The actors were funny and had amazing voices. The storyline was mediocre but I expected no more because I knew this show was meant to be a fun time. I enjoyed every minute of ... read more this show.

Rock of Ages-A sure winner at the 2009 Tony's!!! A MUST SEE!!!
Review by: phrmajobgal, Jun 4, 2009

Saw Rock of Ages for our 4th time on Sat., May 30, 2009 and the show just gets better and better! Constantine, not only were we singing and dancing with you and the cast, but you touched our hearts in your outstanding performance as "Drew." The singing, acting, and dancing is superb. The message, "Don't stop believing" so strong. Highly recommend it for a great night of unforgettable fun. The best musical on Broadway ... read more by far! Don't miss it!

Very energetic and entertaining to say the least.

My husband surprised me with tickets to go see Rock of Ages...I didn't know what to expect, but then I was pleasanlty surprised. It was funny, energetic, and they sang all the songs that are so familiar to anyone who liked the hairband songs back in the 80's. The audience was actually singing along with the actors. I had a great time an would definately recommend it to anyone who enjoyed 80's music.

SEXY SEXY and MORE HOTNESS!!
Review by: Cherry, May 9, 2009

|
Constantine is the sexiest man i have ever seen in person. I thought he was the Hottie of his American Idol season, but seeing him in person does not even compare. He is just so much hotter. His voice is like a rock God! Be prepared ladies!! The cast is full of talented people. Although I do prefer the original Off-Broadway Sherry. This show is very inspiring at least it was to me && soon i hope to be rocking that stage with them. ROA here I ... read more come!!

Fun, fun, fun!!!

If you like the 80's bands listed in the ads, like Starship, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Asia, STYX and REO Speedwagon and the like, you will like the music in this show and that is what this show is basically about. The love story is simple; there's just enough story to produce dance numbers around these fun songs. It also has several laughs to go along with the tunes. If you don't like usually fairly loud rock music and ballads, I doubt this ... read more will do it for you, as it is filled with it. But if you do, your toes will tap and you may even find yourself mouthing along with some of the songs. You can probably even sing, as the music should drown out your possibly slightly off-key efforts. My only regret was not getting to see Constantine Maroulis tonight, but the stand-in (Jeremy Jordan) did an excellent job. My nephew and his wife (both 30 years old) also really enjoyed the show. There are also plenty of great looking people in the cast, so there is something for every taste. If you aren't a fan of the 80's music, you might still enjoy the show for the laughs and looks. We got a bonus on our show, as Kevin Cronin (REO) and Tommy Shaw (STYX) made a special appearance after the show and sang their new song Can't Stop Rockin.' All in all - FUN!!! Found ourselves singing, "Don't Stop Believin" on the way home. Will likely have it in my head tomorrow, too.

Great show for people into 80's hard rock. The rest will know most of the songs. Good Story, Great Acting. Funny, touching, very nostalgic. Surprised by the strippers and sex, so not for younger kids.

ABSOLUTELY SURPRISING MUST SEE!!!!
Review by: Pat, Apr 19, 2009

I will say I live in Times Square and have seen almost every show on the great white way. But right after Billy Elliot, this was the best musical I've seen in the past 2 years. I was totally knocked off my feet...first it's different. The audience is themed with waitresses serving drinks at your seats before and after the show. The sets were great, the ~15 member cast was amazing, and nothing beat the music that takes us back to the 80s ... read more and puts so many of us back in our youth. Constantine was amazing...we waited after the show and security said "Constantine stays here until every autograph is signed". It was true, he was incredibly humble, not rushed, and just one of those people you can feel nothing but proud for. And huge kudos to Wesley Taylor (Franz)...this was his Broadway debut and the kid has talent, a face, dancing skills, and chops to carry him very far. People have said it already...everyone was standing at the end...they close the show to Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' and all up to that that weave a cute love story through the use of 80s music. Not one dull moment in the whole show. Run, don't walk to see this. I got home tonight and called half my family to rave about this show...I definitely will be back to see it again! And on one last point....I agree with leaving the kids home on this one. Make it an adult night out and see this soon!!!

I went with my sister and 2 girls aged 12 and 14. We all loved it! It brought me back to my teen years, and we laughed and sang through the whole show. A bit of foul language, but used appropriately. Sat 2nd row, and to see the actors and actresses this close up, you can tell how passionate they are about acting. Constantine is excellent, and plays the lead with so much feeling, and emotion, as do the others. I would recommend it to anyone ... read more who grew up in the 80s or has great memories of the 80s. Really a "must see."
