Loved it! The BEST of the 80's today. Review by: Stash, Jul 26, 2010 |
| I took my sister for her 40th bday and in our group there were a few who were skeptical. All of us came out of the show in a great mood and loving life, saying we would see this show again. Constantine was so endearing during the show, what a voice on Sherrie, and the narrator absolutely cracked us up. The little flashlights were an adorable touch. The cast & crew put on a great show and we had a GREAT time. I recommend the show to ... read more anyone who will listen. |

ROCKIN' TO ROCK OF AGES Review by: mvhokie, Jul 23, 2010 |
| Rock of Ages was GREAT! Great story incorporating 80s tunes and a fun storyline. My dad and I were definitely singing along the whole time! It was different than many of the other broadway plays I've seen because of the content and the fact that its narrated, but honestly, it made the play unique! I wouldn't recommend taking children, though, just because of the language used, but I totally recommend it! You'll rock out! |

Review by: EE, Jul 17, 2010 |
DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN UNDER 14! NO WARNINGS ON THE WEBSITE! Graphic language, and sex. Songs and choreography on fair. Could have been way better given the material. Spent most of the time feeling uncomfortable at the language, and sex scenes as I made the huge mistake of brining my kids. It was not until we got to the box office, and saw a sign saying not reommended for children under 14. Event then when I asked ... read more at the box office(had bought my tickets online) that I got a vague answer about the warning. This is not an appropriate show for kids, which is a shame. Even though it isnt great, Glee has brought such attention to musical theatre, my kids had wanted to go. Only to have to leave at intermission due to content.

Rock of Ages Play Review Review by: Wheels, Jul 15, 2010 |
This past Saturday, I went to Rock of Ages on Broadway. The rock musical is about the Sunset Strip in the 1980s. I love 1980s rock music from bands like from bands Poison and Whitesnake. If you are a fan of the 80s, you will love this musical. On a scale from 1 to 10, it’s an 11. I had a good time singing along with audience. Classic ballad like “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” blended seamless into the musical like an aria from an opera. ... read more The narrator’s performance was outstanding weaving together the story and songs in his comedic manner. American Idol, Constantine stole the show with his powerful voice and funny stage movements. As I bought my Rock of Ages T-shirt, I told the merchandise lady “Thank God, Rock has finally made it to Broadway. “ She looked at me and said, “You said it, sir. Long live Rock N Roll on Broadway.”

Stay away. Review by: Dad, Jul 14, 2010 |
| Don't waste your money or time. Some of my favorite songs were just butchered. The singers are struggling to hit the right notes and there's no continuity. Horrible. |

Don't Go Review by: playbill, Jul 13, 2010 |
| This show had terrible choreography and the acting was pretty poor. The singing was good but I sat very bored during the show. Overall it wasn't the best experience. I went with 100 people as a group and only less than a 1/4 enjoyed it. It also ruined some of my favourite songs for me. |

A Great Time Was Had By All Review by: Dee, Jul 8, 2010 |
My step daughter was visiting us for a few days and asked to see a broadway play, after reviewing every one listed I chose Rock of Ages because it looked like it would appeal to my whole family (my husband is not a fan of broadway plays but enjoys the music of the 80's). It was the best choice I could have made. What a great time we all had from my 17 year old to my 50 year old...we were so into it. Great music, good plot, great actors! ... read more EVERYONE was super. But my sugguestion is 16 and older. |

WHY Did this show CHANGE???????? Review by: Disappointed Fan, Jul 1, 2010 |
| WOW! What happened??? I saw this show 2 other times once off-broadway and the other on-broadway I LOVED this show both times. So I had my daughter and wife with me this time. We were warned about taking our daughter into the show but with me seeing it twice before and thought it was ok to take my daughter to see didn't think it would be any different than my wonderful experience. Was I WRONG!!! Did they re-do some parts of the show? Is the goal ... read more to state every curse word and offensive gesture that they can get way with on stage. WAY TO MUCH CURING AND OFFENSIVE BEHAVIORS ON STAGE. PLEASE DON'T Bring anyone UNDER 16 to this show unless you don't care about the excessive cursing and offensive gestures. I WILL Definitely heed the warnings next time of people around the theater before spending money on shows again. My wife said without Constantine, This show would be NOTHING. Constantine DEFINITELY MAKES THIS SHOW!!!He was great also and graciously took a picture with my daughter which she absolutely LOVED! GREAT for ADULTS NOT for KIDS!!!!! |

What a great show! Review by: Sabine, Rotterdam, Jun 11, 2010 |
| On Sunday June 6th we walked on Broadway and didn't know where to go. Then we saw there were still tickets available for Rock of Ages, a show we had never heard of before, but with music of the 80s it should be good. And good it was! What an excellent show with the singers and dancers. It couldn't have been better! Thanks to all of them and of course Joel Hoekstra, who must have Dutch parents! :-) |

Great show in the worst managed venue in NYC! Review by: delaw58, May 10, 2010 |
| Awesome show in the worst theater in New York. The music and acting were great. Unfortunately, the theater staff was among the worst I have ever encountered. They refused to remove a rowdy woman after she threatened my wife. The House Manager then questioned my integrity and dismissed me with a "sorry sir." Simply not good enough. I would see the show again in a minute but will never go to a Nederlander owned theater again. |

Fantastic Show - But don't take your 11 year old daughter! Review by: iCruiseUf, Apr 28, 2010 |
Our whole family loves 80's music and learned about this show from some friends. Looked online and saw it starred Constantine from American Idol. That's where I stopped reading and booked tickets for me, wife, 14-old son and 11 year old daughter. Spent half the first act getting "what were you thinking looks" from my wife as she covered my daughter's eyes during every Stacey Jaxx and strip club scene. My 14-year old son had no issues and ... read more laughed loudly every time Mitchell Jarvis came on stage with a different t-shirt. I guess I should've read the disclaimer . . . That being said, this was one of the most entertaining and memorable shows we've ever seen and we've seen a lot. Story was great, actors were amazing and likeable and the music rocked. We loved Emily Padgett in Grease with Taylor Hicks and loved her even more in ROA. Every one was singing and dancing. By the end of the show, my wife had forgiven me for the raciness of Act 1 and the first part of Act II. It was a fantastic show and we're planning on seeing it again when it tours down here in South Florida. Have been recommending to everyone. It's awesome. Would highly recommend this for everyone, but again read the subject matter disclaimer first in case you're thinking about bringing anyone under 13. |

Beer, Sex and Heavy Metal - Welcome to the 80s! Review by: Max Headbanger, Apr 10, 2010 |
Beer in the audience? Flicking your Bic to show your appreciation? This is a Broadway show?? YEP! And what a great show it is - if you're a product of the 80's! Ok the story is weak, I'm not even sure there is a story, but, if you go just for the music - like I did, you're going to have a great time. Set lists includes: "We Built This City", "I Wanna Rock", "Don't Stop Believin'", "Cum On Feel the Noize", and, that just names a few!! ... read more Leave the kiddies and the grandparents at home, this won't appeal to them!

Great experience Review by: travelnjules, Apr 1, 2010 |
| I saw the show this past weekend and it was really great. It was so much fun and there was so much energy from the cast and the audience shared in that. The guy subbing for Constantine...his name is Joey was so amazing. Why wasn't HE ever on American Idol. WOW those high notes! And cute. :-) Hope to see him other shows. |
