| I have seen RENT approximately 10 times since 2002 and have seen many actors come and go. I saw it again last weekend and the current guy that plays Roger (Will Chase) is as good if not BETTER than Adam Pascal! This guy can sing like it's nobody's business. I think there is a little more pizazz put into these last few months of performances since the show will be ending in September. Go see this show NOW or forever wish you had! |

| No words... absolutely none describe the power of RENT! With a touching storyline, edgy music, and lovable characters, this rock opera makes for the one of the finest shows in Broadway history. No show that may share the same themes or have similiar composure (i.e. Spring Awakening) comes even close to the superb quality of RENT. With such a dynamic production, you either love it or hate it, which is way it may face some negative reviews ... read more from those who grew up in the AIDS epidemic or don't condone mildy inappropriate quality. It shares such a beautiful message of living life to its fullest (thank you, Jonathan Larson!) and certainly will not be forgotten in the years to come. I laughed, I cried, I told my friends! Fine for anyone 12 and up. |

| I'm fourteen and have seen Rent twice and LOVE IT!! I saw it for the first time with my older sister and older brother. We all laughed, cried, and were amazed by the music and acting. I was thirteen when I first saw it, and I didn't feel awkward seeing it at all. I wouldn't recommend this musical for anyone under twelve. For everyone twelve and older, though, go see Rent before it leaves Broadway!! You wont regret it! |

| I saw the show on broadway for the first time last weekend! It was absolutely out of this world AMAZING!! I was completely blown away! The movie is no comparison whatsoever, and the show stunned me! I love the music and the characters, but seeing it on stage intensified EVERYTHING!! it was unbelievable!! Anthony Rapp is my all time favorite Mark, but Adam Kantor did a spectacular job! Merle Dandridge was an AMAZING Joanne and Caren Lyn Manuel was breath taking. Michael McElroy (Collins) and Justin Johnston (Angel) were our of this world! I loved Bennett and Gray..All together, I couldn't have been more pleased and THRILLED (except if i had been able to see it again and was able to see it with the original cast!) Rent rocks, HARD. The story is so inspiring, and the music is AMAZING. Jonathan Larsen is a genius. This show is just phenomenal, and, not to be negative, but I really believe that anyone who doesn't love it is just close-minded or has little appreciation for the art of musical theater. I would recommend this show to anyone, but I think it especially speaks to a younger generation; certainly any theater fan.

| There's nothing like the seeing the show LIVE. The movie is not even as good as the stage version. You tend to feel more for the character and the constant of the story with the music works very well. |

| I am surprised at reviewers who have seen the musical and do not get it. Simply put it is a story about the power of love. It is about the reality that we are all not the same nor do we come in neat little packages. Yet we live and strive for the same endpoints; to feel and be loved for who we are. I would not agree that one should see the movie first. Be prepared to see a moving story about a time in our culture where AIDS was yet to be defined ... read more as a manageable chronic illness. Instead you get a glimpse into a world most of us have never lived. It is the powerful sense of triumph over tragedies and perserverance when faced with the unknown that leaves me in awe of the human spirit each and everytime I have had the privelage to see RENT. | Before you see RENT in theatres, you might want to see the movie first and also listen to the soundtrack a couple of times. You have to understand it before you see it in the theatre because it is hard to follow if you don't. Once you hear the music on the soundtrack, you will be amazed. I know I was. RENT quickly became my favorite music. I wasn't crazy about the story at first. But after you see it in the theatre, it changes your opinion about ... read more the music, story and the overall show. It's just amazing. They don't change the sets at all, they use hand held mics usually, and they don't have many props or special effects. It's a great show for adults and children over 13. | I saw RENT for the first time around 1997, last summer when Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal returned,and most recently 2 weeks ago. I am perplexed by the comments of late by patrons who criticized the current Roger and Marc and by those who think this show is overated. I vehemently disagree!! I have been to broadway shows since age 16 (I am now 35). I love love LOVE them. I must say this was the WORST show I have ever seen. The male lead (Mark) was horrible-- he was off key on every song and when he had duets with Roger (who by the way was incredible), Mark just screamed his songs instead of singing. Where did they get this guy?!?!
The two bright moments of the whole play--- Roger(the blonde guy) was a great--- excellent ... read more acting and great vocals and at the beginning of the second act an African American woman has a tiny solo where she was so great that I got chills up my spine.
Some of the other actors/singers were good, but often were overshadowed by bad performers around them. The woman who played Mimi was an ok singer and her acting was WAY over the top--- tone it down a little and she would have been good.
If this is the kind of performances Rent has produced over the years, I am surprised it lasted this long! |

| The undying affinity displayed for this musical by theatregoers of all ages is indeed remarkable. I thought at first it was largely due to the tragic death of its author on the eve of its opening, but time has proved me wrong; it stands on its own. And that's fine -- it's a great production with great music, right up there with the all-time best of Broadway. | This show is very easy to hate if you're not a musical theater person. Keep in mind it is mostly singing, and could get boring if you're not familiar with the material. However, listen to the soundtrack a few times and it is a piece that everyone needs to see, and it's what I like to call the little show that could. |
