Holiday Classic that Never Fails Review by: bboxer, Nov 28, 2007 |
| A Holiday classic - everyone should see it at least once in their life. I go every year. The singing is good, and the actor playing Santa Claus does a great job. The use of the entire backdrop as a moving video piece is incredible. And, of course, the Rockettes' dancing is amazing. The ending of the Nativity Story is great - Broadway does Bible and does it well. |

Radio City Xmas show on a budget. Probably won't go next year Review by: Gills mom, Nov 23, 2007 |
| My daughter and I saw the Xmas show for the 6th time last week. We were greatly disappointed in this budget cutting show and felt that the Madison Square group worked hard to drive out costs this year; I guess when the musicians struck 2 years ago, MSG had to cut corners somehow. The musicians used rise from the pit and used to travel on their platform around the stage which was very exciting...not this year...they rise and then stay ... read more in one place for much of the show. The cast had been greatly cut, the Nutcracker scene was shortened, the nativity scene (not that we care about that) was also cut, the theme with the 2 kids who travel with Santa to the North Pole was boring. Santa Land was also on a budget with less elves and less fanfare in Santa's workshop. We missed Mr Spruce our favorite elf. Even the organ players cut their concert short. Additionally the 2 ice skaters were not as entertaining as the past ice skatesr and their program was cut short and their rink looked smaller. I realize MSG wanted to change the show somewhat for their 75th anniverary but this was the first time I felt that I got ripped off to the point the show made me yawn. |

Amazing.....this year it is even better. Review by: pilarmia, Nov 21, 2007 |
| Enjoyment, happiness, spectacular, and Christmas all rolled into one!! This year's show is better than ever. The acts are refreshing and full of holiday cheer. My daughter was overwhelmed at all the different things going on. Do not miss the Rockettes, they were at their best. The snow and ribbon acts were wonderful too. |

75 YEARS and STILL A WINNER! Review by: RALPHIE, Nov 11, 2007 |
I/we have attended the Christmas Show at RCMH at least 20 times over the past 40 years. There is a reason this show endures year after year, the reason: it's great, and it has its values in the right place.
The new show is better than ever, new numbers, new costumes, new spectacular stuff. But all the great traditions remain. Each of us has their favorite parts -- the March of the Wooden Soldiers, Clara,... read more, whatever; but the first thing enters my mind whenever we plan on going is ALWAYS the Wise Men procession with the animals walking across the stage. I wonder how many others think so.
Sitting up close in this 6000 seat theatre is nice -- you can see that each Rockette is different, etc. but even in the low priced 3rd Mezz the show is so big you get a fine perspective. Radio City had General Admission for decades -- you pay and sit anywhere, same price. Back then we usually went to the 3rd Mezz in order to take in a full view including the stuff that goes on up the sides of the auditorium. Pay top price if you wish, but it isn't necessary for this particular show. |
