Wonderful New Mamet Play...Spader and Grier are Superb! Review by: timetraveler, Nov 18, 2009 |
I saw the first two preview performances of RACE and loved this Mamet play. This is one that will keep you talking after the show is over with others who have also seen the production. James Spader and David Alan Grier were both superb in their roles; I cannot even imagine how good they will become by opening night! I really wish I knew how people can retain that much dialogue and deliver it so brilliantly. The major weak spot I ... read more felt was Kerry Washington's performance. I have loved her in several other projects and am hoping that she and Mr. Mamet can put their heads together and get her more comfortable with her role. She is a wonderful actress and I hope by opening night she will be as great doing Mamet as are her two leading men. |

Excellent acting and a powerful story Review by: , Nov 18, 2009 |
Race is a powerhouse! James Spader is at the top of his game. David Alan Grier is absolutely wonderful. Kerry Washington and Richard Thomas are both great in their roles. Serious, at times humorous, Race makes you think from beginning to end. This play is a must see! |

| An excellent drama! Acting was superb! James Spader at his finest. A bit rough, but certainly realistic. |
