On this trip to Broadway, I am seeing 11 shows, Priscillia is the first that I have been disapointed in. Highlights Tony Sheridan as Bernadette, a truely fantastic actor, who just shines in a pair of heels, and Nathan Lee Graham's Miss Understanding - the best I have seen in that role I am Australian, and have seen the original Australian production of Priscillia a number of times and have seen the London production. If I had not ... read more seen the other productions, I am sure I would have loved this show, unfortuantely, I come with this baggage. The original Australian Production, I rated as Brilliant, and 4.5 stars, in London it was 4 stars, on Broadway, I am lucky to give it 3 stars, but then I have the other productions to compare it to What has went wrong? In taking the show to London, a number of the original jokes were cut, references to only flying Ansett (which went bankrupt in 2001) just dont work outside of Australia, fair enough, but it did take away from the show. The sheer number of changes for Broadway, just ruined the show, I understand that Kylie is not a household name in the US, but the replacement Madonna content was not to the same standard. Similarly Tik's opening number was not to same standard as the orignal "I've never been to me" and is a big loss, same as Mitzy's "Venus" - the replacements did not live up to the job of developing the character Finally, the accent used by Nick Adams is terrible, it is not his normal accent, and is definately not Australian, during "Hot Stuff" I was hoping he got an extra smack for using such a tettible pretend accent, it would be much better not to use it.

Great unbridled fun, full of colors and glitter Review by: Musical Lover, Feb 19, 2012 |
| So much fun !!! Loved the music, loved the voice. I was amazed by the amount of costumes. Some of the most intricate costumes are only used for a few minutes. The bus on stage is amazing. It is just unbridled fun. It is not trying to teach a lesson about homosexuality or cross-dresser. It is just good music, extravagant character and "fabulous" costumes. I saw it five times and I loved it everytime. I hesitated bringing my daughters (12 and 15), ... read more but I did and they loved it. There are a few rawdy (inappropriate) jokes but they did not seem to understand them (and I am glad they did not). Great, great fun !!! |

The most fun on Broadway, glitter and all. Review by: stacedee, Feb 13, 2012 |
| Who would not love "Priscilla"? It has got to be the most fun show on Broadway. The smile never left my face from beginning to end. Tony Sheldon, Will Swenson and Nick Adams are amazing. The costumes are incredible. There is never a dull moment during the show. I did not want the show to end. The show is not for the prudish and not for children. I have seen it 3 times and have tickets to see it again. |

Great show and great ensemble cast, Will see again! Review by: TigerKane, Jan 22, 2012 |
I saw Priscilla this past Friday night. I also bought the two for one tickets and it was worth every penny. We sat front row AA of the mezzanine and they were great seats, you also had the added help of using the ledge in front of you for putting your drinks and program etc on it. I would not want to sit too close for this show as there is aerial action in quite a few portions of the show. Everyone is great in this show but I ... read more would like to point out three actors that were not the main stars but made the show memorable for me. First Nathan Lee Graham doing a scene stealing Tina Turner. J Elaine Marcos is hilarious and has some special talents. And finally the child actor Sebastian Thomas playing Benji was amazing in his song with Tick. I saw some reviews that said there was not much of a story so I went into the show expecting just song after song. I was happily surprised to find that it had a great story and a lot of acting not just musical numbers, so I do not understand where the other reviewers were coming from. I will be seeing this show again! Great night out!

i was surprised! Review by: ginger8, Jan 21, 2012 |
| purchased these tickets to see with my daughter, well, frankly, after i saw the 2 for 1 offer..not because it sounded good! BOY WAS I SURPRISED..the show was delightful..not for young kids for sure, as it was a bit crass at times, but if you love transsexual musicals, you will love this..the costumes alone are worth the price of admission..the main character was not all that grand in acting skills..however, tony sheldon, the older actor, ... read more is beyond superb..he is amazing from beginning to end and carries the show...this is an upbeat, funny, and charming musical set to great cyndi lauper, etc, tunes...like a gay jersey boys, though not quite as good! but worth seeing on a 2 for 1 coupon! |

Gay Fun Review by: Chubby Theater Goer, Nov 3, 2011 |
| This is a harmless show and you can definitely do worst like going to see Spider-man? Or Chinglish? Man and Boy? Or even Relatively Speaking. All boring shows. This one however will definitely not bore you. The song selection is much better than Rock of Ages however there are some songs from the 70s as well. I never understand an 80s themed show without music from Madonna. This one has a whole bunch of them. The costumes and ... read more sets are just outrageous and fun. If you just looking for a grand old time, this is the show. It may even be better than Mamma Mia because why limit yourself to music from just one group? I admit it's a bit too over-the-top for me. Not to mention really flaming and happy and joyous. Just too much for my taste. Also I prefer something with a better book and this really has no story. |

Broadway at it's Best Review by: Colonel John, Sep 26, 2011 |
My wife and I are in our mid sixties and somewhat puritanical. The subject matter of Priscilla seemed a bit unusual to us and we were uncertain how we would react to the subject matter. We loved the show and felt it was on of the best we have ever seen. We felt as if we were present in a party of jubilation. Honestly, there were no negatives. The audience did not want to leave at the end. |

Priscilla - see it!! Review by: YULaussie, Sep 7, 2011 |
| I have seen Priscilla in Australia and on Broadway. This show is just as good as the original Australian version. Sometimes however, the "Australian accent" the cast use isn't very good, but other than that, it is a great show. I am going back to see it a third time in a few weeks! |

A show with heart! Review by: Leslie, Jul 24, 2011 |
| It wasn't at all what I had expected...and I mean that in a good way! I thought it would just be a feel-good, silly time with outrageous costumes and dance-floor hits. And it was! But what surprised me the most was how much HEART the show has, not to mention the countless poignant moments throughout. It's a great time, and you'll be left feeling touched by the story! |

Fabulous Review by: Broadwayfan, Jul 17, 2011 |
| My partner and I just finished "Priscilla" for the second time and I definitely could see it again. I think that Tony Sheldon is giving an incredible performance as Bernadette. He was robbed of a Tony. Nick Adams and Will Swenson support himadmirably. Everything you loved for the movie is in the show and so so much more. Definitely one of my favorite shows ever. You leave the theatre with a big smile on your face. |

This one is a FLAMER!!!!! Review by: broadway junkie, Jul 10, 2011 |
| An incredible production. Sometimes a little over the top in a flamboyant way.. These show has G-A-Y written all over it. If you have a problem with men acting in a feminine and flamboyant fashion, this probably isn't for you. The costumes were unbelievable. Great story line. At times I thought TOO much, but ended up enjoying at the end. Be careful about your tickets. The stage is quite high at the Palace Theater, so you need to sit at ... read more least 5-10 rows back. I was in the second row and missed a little of what was going on, because I could not see the base of the stage. |
