What a voice! Review by: , Feb 5, 2008 |
| Being a big fan of Piaf, I did not expect an actress to live up to such high expectations. Wonderful production, it is as if Edith is on the stage herself! |

The Real Edith Piaf Review by: NedRacine, Jan 20, 2008 |
| We saw Naomi's performance as Edith Piaf this weekend. I had some trepidations because I was not sure I would enjoy hearing all these songs sung in French. Well, the songs were nicely sung, and even if you do not understand French, they are beautiful. But where this play really excels is the tremendous interpretation Naomi gives to Piaf's character. A great script with a lot of little details that make you feel you really were listening to ... read more Piaf herself. The contrast between the first act where Piaf was happy and in her prime, versus the second act where she was haggard, broken, and despairing is very dramatic and really tells the story of her life. I recently saw the movie "La Vie en Rose" which is the same story but I did find I enjoyed the play much more. And an extra plus is that Naomi will come out after the show to sign and talk to her fans. It has been extended a few more weekends. |

Riveting Review by: Syl, Jan 7, 2008 |
| My husband & I saw the Piaf show last night. I should say, we saw Piaf perform last night. I was riveted by Naomi Emmerson's performance. I've seen a number of artists who have tried to capture Piaf's qualities & her ability to transfix an audience with her delivery, but I've never been so moved to tears & laughter (as appropriate). Catch it while you can!! |
