Review by: Caprithree, May 15, 2011 |
| I did not see the play but read it, and can say that after reading it, I would not even consider going to see it. It is one of the most language vulgar plays I have ever read or seen. I can see no reason for this play to exist.Author Theresa Rebeck seems to have a one word vocabulary and that word begins with F. The play is only 67 pages long and in that 67 pages, she pens the F--- word 111 times. It was so bad that I could only read 10-15 ... read more pages a day, as opposed to my usual reading of 200 pages a day. One sentence is a 5 word sentence and four of the five words are teh f--- word. For a number of years I have belonged to a playreading group and we meet monthly and do a play at each meeting. Since none of the reviews mention the foul language in this play, our selectioon committee ordered it. Six of our members, after reading it, said they would quit the group if this kind of play were to be the norm. |

Great Show Review by: jen, Jul 24, 2008 |
| Saw the show in Bradford this week, loved it, the dancing and singing were excellent and all the cast looked as if they were really enjoying themselves. Really enjoyed the last bit after the applause, we were buzzing when we came out - really like how like Madness the singing sounded. 10/10 J from Hudds |
