| Saw On a Clear Day for the second time this month and thought it was one of the best musicals I've seen. Mr. Connick's singing talent is at his best and I also thought his acting was on the mark, as well; he came across as an analytical, but compassionate psychiatrist whose understanding and compassion "blossom" as his mind and heart open to the possibility of new ideas. The audience appeared to love the show, cheering and commenting what a great show it is, and what a shame it is ending this Sunday. I enjoyed the show even more at yesterday's matinee than I did earlier this month. I don't understand the negative reviews. The songs, the acting, the unique, lovely, colorful hypnotic style scenery, the depth of feeling in the show, the talented cast all touched my heart immensely. Everyone connected with the production provided the audience with a show to remember and one of real quality and originality. |

Well, we saw On A Clear Day last night...quite mediocre. The book was still weak and the production values were below par ( horrible op art set, garish costumes that captured the 70's look but not the theatrical sensibilities of the era, lifeless frug-like dancing ) With the new revisions, most of the better songs are in Act 2. Connick was given weak material, songs that mostly advanced the plot in the first act, but rarely stood out ... read more with his crooner voice, except for some of the more famous tunes at the end ( Come Back to Me, title song ). The mix of male/ female characters worked only when they were together in unison on stage, but not when they were alone plot-wise or visually. The "David" Gamble character was uninteresting , both in story and in its supporting actor, but "Daisy" was wonderful, due to the gifted Jenny Mueller, making her Bway debut. She was the best and only reason to see the show.
Also, the unethical ramifications of male psychiatrist and gay patient were more pronounced with the sex change spin. Orchestration was routine. The director used an ill-conceived book and didn't help matters with his own static staging. One questions the handling of some of the musical numbers ( The beautiful Love With All the Trimmings becomes a folk song with guitar accompaniment? ) On A Clear Day...How it won't astound you! Grade: C |

| How could anything with Harry Connick be bad? This is a charming production with a good score, nicely redone in parts to accommodate the rewrite. The voices are lovely and the choreography is fun, seventies-style. |

| Very disappointed. I have always LOVED the music from this show and was interested in seeing how they 'reworked' the show, but alas I felt let-down. Harry Connich Jr. didn't seem to act (just played himself), Mueller (the female lead Melinda) was incredible BUT her role was diminished especially in act 2. The writing was sooooo off that it doomed the show. The new script had supporting players on more in act 2 than the leads. Also, the new ... read more script screated two new characters, a female co-worker for Harry and a female 'gal-pal'...both roles should have been cut, the auideince doesn't care about them! Skip this show and just buy the CD. |

| A really muddled and poor "revision" of a charming show from 1966. Harry Connick Jr. in the leading role is wooden and dazed. He brings nothing to the stage and actually hurts, rather than helps an already shaky premise. Supporting players are adequate at best, but for a light musical comedy of a bygone era it is a dismal showing at best. If you wish Broadway excitement see "Anything Goes" instead. |

| Attended the matinee Saturday January 7, 2012. I thought the show was fabulous. Mr. Connick's voice was beautiful singing very lovely songs, making me want to take the bus to NYC again and see the play a second time. Also, David Turner is a very talented singer and actor; I enjoyed his performance very much, also. I don't know why the show has been poorly reviewed. I really loved it. There were a couple of silly numbers and one song sung ... read more by Jessie Mueller playing Melinda in the 1940's didn't seem 1940ish to me--it was loud and not the elegant 40s style. But other than that, I found the play's musical numbers memorable, of course On A Clear Day sung by Mr. Connick, was one of the loveliest Broadway songs I've ever heard. And the very original story line twist of the old film and probably original Broadway show was very creative and intelligently thought out. The performers were all talented and funny. A great show. And Kerry O'Malley has a beautiful voice and I wish she had more singing to do in the show. |

| Awful! I was looking forward to see Harry Connick, Jr. in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever by Alan Jay Lerner. Instead I got a show with its cast members dressed in 1970's costumes and Harry Connick, Jr. in what appeared to me to be in a supporting role. The rewrite of Lerner's play to make it more contemporary was more confusing and the music - surprisingly poor. I was waiting to hear the music by Burton Lane – instead the music ... read more in one scene reminded me of the play Hair. The scenery was poor and I could not help but think of a Little Shop of Horrors. This play would not have gotten past reviews without Harry Connick, Jr. It is he alone who is drawing people to the show - and something not worth your time. |

If you can get through the confusing, uninspiring first act, the second act will pull some things together as best it can and reward you with two or three well-known songs. I doubt this show will continue with Mr. Connick.

| I saw this with a group last week and enjoyed it. Not nearly as good as PAJAMA GAME because the story is a bit confusing but that said, how the writers handled the storyline was awesome. Totally entertained and enjoyed the musical numbers with a bit of a message to take home. |

After last seasons lively revival of Promises, Promises, I was ecstatic when I was able to secure terrific orchestra seats to this show. I was terribly disappointed from the first strains of music to the final stage salute. The story is, at best, confusing and convoluted. The original version was a stretch, this one doesn't work at all. The show is boring, the music tepid. The stage was sparse, and the geometric patterns looked odd and out of place. The entire stage production felt amateurish. Normally, I'm a huge broadway show fan, looking past the small stuff and focusing on the best the show has to offer. This one caught me totally by surprise. Not worth the price of admission.

A dull, boring and useless show. The worst Broadway show in a few years.
Harry Conick Jr is wasted as he sleepwalks through a deradful role.
The music is pretty awful. You'd be hard pressed to do worse with 3 hours of your life. |

| Just got home and wanted to say how much I enjoyed the show. Harry Connick is marvelous, and they surrounded him with heaps of singing talent. The band is terrific. The sets work and the story is fun and entertaining. I was involved throughout the show. Very good. Relax and enjoy! |

| I agree with Carrie. I was disappointed. I love Harry Connick Jr. I think it is just the story. It's an odd story even in the movies. I think it should have been a female character just like in the film. I know it was trying to be different, but it just didn't work. I found most of the actors average, no stand out performances. I'm curious what the critics will say. |

| I was truly looking forward to this show. Sadly, the first act was quite boring. The second act was better. A big Connick fan, I felt he appeared stiff throughout most of the production. There was one outstanding performer, Jessie Mueller. She brought some life to the show. One actress, basically did a Kristin Chenoweth impersonation the whole show. The music is not very memorable.
