The Dark Matter inside your Brain Review by: NedRacine, May 24, 2009 |
The play consisted of only a few main characters: the astronomer wife and mother of a teenage daughter along with her "husband", as well as a professor colleague. The actors were good, especially the astronomer Anna who had to act normally at first, but aphasic later on due to an accident. The teen-age daughter provided a balance of fun to the otherwise somber subject matter. The play clearly wants to use the mystery of the universe ... read more as a metaphor for the mysteries of the mind. I found that it worked somewhat, but a little overdone in some scenes. This is a play for someone who wants to give some thought to a serious subject like aphasia, and how Life can turn badly in an instant. And the struggle to get better. Lighting and sound were complimentary. |
