Loved, Loved, Loved it again! Review by: A-Mo, Jul 19, 2010 |
4th timer and saw Alice's last performance...still an absolutely amazing tour de force of a show. Folks, Broadway has changed, if you want to see a tradtional show like Oklahoma or Sound of Music then stick to regional theater revivals. New genre of shows like N to N are taking over and doing an amazing job of reinventing and redefining Broadway with relevant subject matters. N to N is so incredible from the actors, the music, the ... read more sets and the storyline. Take it for what it is, a journey that makes you think. Loved it and hope the new cast does an incredible job. Alice, Brian, Bobby (my daughter has taken classes with him and he's amazing) and Jen will be hard to follow. |

N2N Is Stilll the Best Show on B'way Review by: ajp, May 10, 2010 |
| I just saw N2N last night for the third time and it was even better than I remembered it. The story remains powerful and emotional, the music propulsive and varied, the lyrics amazing, the cast uniformly excellent, and Alice Ripley gives a performance that will be remembered as legendary. This isn't musical comedy but musical drama and it remains the best show on Broadway. |

Review by: Joe, Apr 23, 2010 |
| ALY is intitled to his/her opinion, but he/she is entirely off base. I usher for the B'way theatres and Next to Normal is the best peice of theatre I have see in years. Any show that stir emotion in an audience is a great piece of work. Next to Normal does just that. The music augments the termoil with in the family. Alice Ripley's performace is right on. As is all of the actors in the wonderful. Is the subject matter easy. NO, but the ... read more show is a masterpeice of great theatre and MUST SEE. Can't wait to see it for the 3rd time! |

NEXT to INCREDIBLE Review by: Brian, Apr 21, 2010 |
| Next to Normal is an amazingly passionate emotional musical. All the actors were amazing and this totally deserved the Pulitzer Prize. I would see a hundred times, the music is amazing, and there are so many wonderful scenes. |

THE ILLUSION: THERE'S NOT MUCH THERE, THERE Review by: ALY, Apr 19, 2010 |
| Next to Normal is a painful musical to encounter. The music is mediocre and contains all of the subtlety of a 3 alarm fire. It take s a trite view of a complex disturbance, with overblown performances and static direction. I was expecting something special, at least in the performance by Alice Shipley, but her voice was often sharp or flat and strident. I could not wait to leave the the theater. Don't be conned by pulitzer prizes. This ... read more is a charmless waste of time. |

I miss N2N Review by: Sounders25, Apr 18, 2010 |
| I saw this N2N on a whim when in NYC in November - and when I listen to the cast CD I purchased within two sec - it can still bring me to tears. A beautiful, sad, poignant story that does not adhere to the normal. My most moving theatre experience to date. Back in Oz now - and I don"t miss the mountains - I miss N2N! |

BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD Review by: broadwaybabe1234, Mar 16, 2010 |
| THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON BROADWAY! IF YOU GO TO NEW YORK AND DO NOTHING ELSE, IT IS THAT WORTH IT. for serious... go see the show before Mrs. Ripley leaves, she is the reason to see the show even though the rest of the cast is incredible, the set is superb and the score/ book takes you on an emtional rollercoaster that is rarley experienced in musical theater. I am 15 and am very picky about what musicals i see, i can say this is the ... read more best musical i have ever seen. GO SEE THIS MUSICAL! |

Next to Average Review by: victorbelo, Mar 13, 2010 |
| I was expecting more. I thought the score was too repetitive. Some songs are catchy, but most of them just sound the same. The stage is well designed, but there is no dancing, and it lacks dynamism for a musical. The story is supposed to be dark sad, but the narration didn't want to abandon the light happy humorous musical style. I didn't feel it. Acting and singing were good. I was tired and I dozed off few times during the play, but the show ... read more didn't really helped me. |

AMAZING! Review by: sweetnyc26, Feb 28, 2010 |
| I LOVE this show and have seen it twice! I know someone who's seen it 10 times. I think it's brilliant, original, and moving. I have been a theater goer for over 30 years and this is one of my favorites. I have the score on my ipod and listen to it all the time. If this doesn't move you then you have no soul. |

Worst show we have ever seen on B'way!!! Review by: T, Feb 26, 2010 |
| After having this show recommended to us by several people, my wife and I attended and were the MOST DISAPPOINTED we have ever been with ANYTHING we have seen on Broadway over the years. The music was trite, unispiring, way over-amplified, and screamed rather than sung. The story, well, for people who have experienced bi-polar family members, was just plain stupid! Total waste of money. Both of us are music professionals so i would hope ... read more we would know what we are talking about. |

2nd Time Arounda and will go again Review by: 2nd Time Mom, Feb 20, 2010 |
My daughter and I just saw N to N for the 2nd time this past week. Still absolutely amazing and in fact, we both enjoyed it even more than the first time. Entire cast just exudes so much force and energy to convey a very sensitive subject with dignity, grace and compassion. The acting and singing are outstanding. I could see the audience around us was totally riveted as there's not one iota of downtime in this show. Everyone from the ... read more cast except Alice came out to sign autographs and take pictures with the grateful teens who waited in the cold. I'm sure it gets tiresome night after night to meet with the crowd but Jennifer could have been a bit friendlier. Bobby and Louis were just delightful and seemed appreciative of the crowds and even made chit chat. Go see this incredible show for what it is...not a typical Broadway show but a masterpiece. |

Deep, Emotional and Raw...The Qualities Of A Magnificent Show Review by: quizking101, Feb 6, 2010 |
The level of raw, unadulterated emotion in this groundbreaking musical is astronomical. The entire cast, including the talented Mrs. Ripley, fit well into their roles as members of a family trying to hold it together as they're clearly falling apart. The rock score intensified the emotions on stage and the softer songs that underscored the sadder moments were enough to make you cry. (In fact, 7 people walked out in the middle of Act II because ... read more they couldn't contain their emotion). Go see this show...Period! |

Great show with an amazing score and actors Review by: Karl, Jan 19, 2010 |
| This is an amazing musical performed on a clever set, with imaginative lighting and sound design. All the actors were amazing I felt every emotion Diana went through. Jen Damiano (Natalie) made her character so easy to relate to. Aaron Tveit made Gabe a devious, but likable character. J. Robert Spencer (Dan) was great at showing the emotion of trying to keep his world from falling apart. Adam Chanler- Berat made the seemingly ... read more irrelevant character of Henry one to watch. And Louis Hobson gave psychiatrists a good name. I also love the rock- concert feel of the show and the contemporary score with smart lyrics. The fast paced story kept me glued to my seat. This is one for the record books. |
