lame acting and poor singing Review by: susie, Nov 14, 2006 |
Last year,my son dragged me to the show. I LOVED it!! Tim Curry and David Hyde Pierce were in it. I recently saw it for the second time and was very disappointed. It seemed like a high school production. Many of the songs were changed-I listen to the CD often-because it was apparent that these actors could not hit the same notes. The Lady of the Lake was terrible. I lost my interest in the show. |

Fun Show Review by: Carol, Nov 1, 2006 |
| The Monty Python fans will love this piece of fluff which I saw with the original cast--a very talented bunch. It was a fun evening with a modicum of a moral: Do what you love. |

Not worth seeing Review by: stagestrucknyc.com, Oct 15, 2006 |
| It says a lot about the sorry state of the Bway musical that this show won awards and is considered a success. This is an excessively flashy production -- all glitz and nothing else. The material is borrowed from a charming film that is tons better, and you can rent Monty Python and the Holy Grail for a tiny fraction of the price of these tickets. The film drew its appeal from being low budget, certainly not over-blown like this clunker. |

Just OK Review by: nyctc7, Oct 15, 2006 |
First act was a little flat. Over half the dialogue came directly from the the movie "Monty Python & The Holy Grail," so there were no surprises and I didn't laugh once. The second act was good. They do give you your money's worth with a cool production, but in the end I thought Spamalot was just ok.
