| Amazingly energetic and uplifting from start to finish. Once of the best - and unexpected - shows I have seen in a long time. The acting was superb, the singing was great and the music/dancing was inspiring. I would highly recommend this show. |

| This show was full of life, and the girl who played the lead "Felicia" was absolutley amazing. The songs were fantastic and the storyline was outstanding. I sat in the side front row AA, so it wasnt the best view in the world, but is still enjoyed it very well. I lived it so much! |

Saw Memphis in September 09 and then Ragtime in October.
Ragtime is gone now (but it was a SUPER, moving production).
Ragtime was and is a fantastic show and not to be missed.

Hockadoo!!! This show is great! It starts off with a bang and is entertaining throughout. All of the actors/singers/dancers are wonderful.

| I liked the show memphis because the actors and music was some of the best i have seen. I also liked the story of how a white man was accepted into a world he had never assoiated with before and how he fell in love with a lady from that worled . Their voices were also great . |

I had a good time at this show. It wasn't brilliant but it was definitely entertaining.
The acting:
Chad Kimball as Huey was pretty good, a bit of the standout here, albeit somewhat creepy with an annoying posture, stance and speech, but I began to realize those were his character's traits.
I found believing in the chemistry between Huey and Felicia a bit of a stretch, but because I was having such a good time I allowed for ... read more that awkwardness.
The rest of the cast was good enough for me to have a great time--nothing brilliant, but definitely good enough for a fun time.
The singing:
Here is where Montego Glover as Felicia and J. Bernard Calloway as Delray shined. This is the kind of singing I was hoping for in a production like this. Actually, I wished Calloway could have sung a bit more.
The music:
Really good.
The overall effect:
Here the first act seemed to fly, and I was sad the second act was beginning only because I knew it would be over soon. I had a good time, and sat upright the entire time. This is one of those popping energetic musicals. |

| What a terrific musical! As many previous reviews have indicated, Memphis is a must see show. The energy of the cast is second to none. The music, scenery, choreography, and story were outstanding. Memphis is surely deserving of Tony nominations and awards. Make time to see it if you visit New York City. |

| A pleasant surprise for me to see the next best musical to win the Tony Award. It was not the music, not the dancing, but the story that was interwoven into the musical format that was so successfully done. The lead actors had very strong voices making these original songs even better. A very lively score should also win a Tony this year. The story starts when a white 'wanna be' DJ goes into a black blues club and 'discovers' a singer and ... read more says he will make her the star of Memphis. His goal is also to bring black music to a white audience. But this musical is so much more. I throughly enjoyed this show and I am sure you will too. It's nice to see something original and not a rerun movie or play set to music. Some excellent lyrics and music, ok dancing, and adequate settings. Buy discount tix and see this show!!!! |

| This musical was entertaining throughout, I went on a school trip from Wales and there wasn't a person disappointed. If you get the chance it's worth seeing although it didn't touch me like Wicked or The Lion King. I felt the music was good and the whole performance was enjoyable, but just not as memorable as others have been. I'd give this a 7/10. |

| Memphis -The Broadway Musical was great.It's story line, actors and singers are phenomenal. I was immediately drawn in by the wonderful choreography and music orchestration that had me clappin' and toe tappin'.It was truly exhilarating and without a doubt should be considered for the upcoming Tony Award nominations. I left the theater yearning for more and will definitely return to see it again. |

| MEMPHIS WAS GREAT!!!! Didn't really know what to expect got student rush ticket as a last minute show decision and was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! GREAT SHOW! GREAT VOICES!
