| My 13 year old daughter had never seen the movie version of Mary Poppins so she didn't know what to expect. She absolutely loved this show. We both did. Watching her eyes light up at the special effects and the singin was priceless. Don't listen to negative reviews Mary Poppins is a must see! |

| Just saw it yesteday with my 4 and 1/2 yr old girl and she kept asking me where the scenes were and songs from the movie. Yeah, not good. Why why why would they make up new songs and scenes and characters. As I know they were probably in the books, my little girl has never read them and was looking forward to the songs in the movie. She enjoyed it for the experience but I was enraged that I spent soooo much and got MAYBE 5 of the movie songs,... read more, with about a quarter of the orchestra they should have had. Another ripoff from Disney. Will give kudos to the cast who were wonderful! |

| A great time! I was never a fan of the movie, but I loved the show. (Although some of my friends who loved the movie were dissapointed.) However I thought it was great. The sets and effects were amazing! The music was catchy and the dancing was very good. |

| I didn't know what to expect when I got tickets for this. I grew up watching the movie, and I assumed that it was going to be a carbon copy of it. It wasn't and it was great! It is just as good for adults as it is for children as some of the comedy was dark, that will go right over the kids heads. This is a great show...one of the few great shows left on broadway. |

While its not god-awful... it just not good either,
White its not without merit--- it just doesn't measure up to the film
Fine for Families. In fact i recommend you take the kids but the film snaps it it away in every area.

And all of the new songs, the one's not written by the Sherman Brothers were indeed
God Awful. See if you have kids.
Makes you really appreciate Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, Ed Wynn, Hermione Baddley,
David Tomlinson and Glynis Johns. And where were the suffragettes?

| As a fan of the motion picture, the "differences" from the movie were not entertaining to me. The music was written for the motion picture and the changes in the use of the music with the storyline were distracting. The actors were very good and the sets and costumes were exquisite. The ticket prices have become utterly outrageous. I'm glad we purchased discount tickets; I would not have paid full price for this production. |

| I enjoyed the show and found the music and choreography to be superb. I have to laugh at all the people who compare this negatively to the movie: if you want an exact recreation of the movie, then stay home and watch the DVD. This is a different art form, and every musical adapted from a movie (i.e., "Billy Elliot") is going to have its own sensibility. | If you have seen the movie "Mary Poppins" and you have loved the movie then you would have liked the musical too. Thrilling set design and beautiful music and wonderful seans then you are up for a treat. I actually bought a program and a t-shirt and the free tote bag and if you get a drink then you get a mary poppins free soviener cup. It doesn't cost too much. The props and design are amazing. | Just accept it for what it is. I went with my family, and knew going in that it was going to be just entertainment, that it was not going to rock my world. Leigh is 100% wrong!! I'm a HUGE fan of the film and I love this! Please stop jumping ahead and saying if you love the film you won't love this, that is NOT true!!
READ THE BOOKS. My reccommendation to anyone who hasn't read them because the negative comments are coming from people who have obviously never read them!
This is just as enjoyable as the film and anyone who didn't think so should NOT claim that everyone who is a fan would ... read more hate this! Please stop saying that! It may not be the Mary Poppins you're used to but like I said before, buy the books and read them and you'll find out why it's different!
My advice is ignore the bad reviews because they are not right at all! This is a fabulous show and didn't have any negative reviews from the critics! You will regret it if you don't see a great performance like this! I admit a couple of the songs are at a slow pace but overall that shouldn't mark the whole show down. Be prepared for excitement and enjoy it!

Such a wonderful show and so "Disney"! The special effects were ingenious especially the Bert "walk"!
If possible, sit in the orchestra section to fully experience this fantastic musical. Mary Poppins made me laugh and delight in the magic of theater! |

Mary Poppins was great, it was definitely the best of the 3 shows I saw on my trip.
I loved the songs, and the sets were really really really great. It was as thought they captured the story on the stage. definitely recommend it to anyone who loves musicals and who rememebrs the movie from when they were kids. |

| The show was fantastic. I thought Ashley Brown (mary poppins) really brought charm and character to the show. | My family and I had always wanted to see this but never really made it a priority show,wow, were we wrong to wait! This show is absolutely fantastic in every way! If you are looking for a great family show that will keep everyone entertained, give this show a try, you won't be disappointed.
