The funnest and funniest show that I have seen in years. Incredibly entertaining. I hardly knew any of his work or characters, never seen his movies, or SNL characters - Basically, I only knew his Comedy Central character Jiminy Glick. I am a HUGE Jiminy Glick fan, and the the part of the show with Jiminy was especially hilarious!
However the rest of the show was equally funny, entertaining, and just plain terrific. The songs are ... read more golden - I couldn't even hear every word becuase the laughter was so loud and so long - just terrific. If you are exhausted by "one-person" shows - you are going to love this one-man show with a bunch of other people in it.
The rest of the cast is terrific - Brooks Ashmanskas was especially good. And the "show-stopper" song is, well, show stopping. You just have to see it. I went to first night of previews because I thought that this might be a show that will be hard to get tickets to once all the rave reviews come out . . . and now I am convinced I was right.
I'm geting tickets now to see it a few more times - I have never done that before. Now I know what it feels like to be one of those people who saw Cats 101 times . . . 'cause I want to see this show 100 more times. |

Short on laughs Review by: none, Jul 20, 2006 |
| Saw it in toronto. If you're a Short fan you may like it as some in the audience did, but it is disjointed, derivative and deadly boring. It's just not funny. |

Mostly for fans of Martin Short already Review by: Kathi, Jul 17, 2006 |
| I completely disagree with the review from July 10. I saw the show July 16, and laughed my head off. I especially loved the sight gags with the set cutting off his head as he entered and the wire act at the end of the first act, so he could start the second act by implying he had been hanging there the entire intermission. I only wish there had been a bigger role for scene stealer Capathia Jenkins; her songs were cut from the first act,... read more,(according to the program) and she really didn't seem to do much except for the show stopping number in act 2. It was great that they pulled a member from the audience to be a "guest" on the Jiminy Glick segment, allowing Short to ad lib. It was fun. |

The review posted, which is dated July 10 is not very helpful. It does not mention anything about the music, content of the show etc. I mean, who cares if Martin Short ran into his limosine at the end of the show? Can you post other reviews?
Thank you |

See the show for the talented Mary Birdsong and Nicole Parker Review by: , Jul 10, 2006 |
| Saw the show in Chicago. Not worth the money. Mr. Short, while, appearing to appreciate the audience, is not sincere. He really doesn't ever connect with them, always staying in character. Even when he talks about his wife and three kids and his dedication to them, you wonder if it's just part of his act to try to get the audience to like him. Mary Birdsong and Nicole Parker talented, warm and very entertaining. They were approachable, ... read more friendly and met fans after the show. Mary and Nicole really appreciated the praise and input. Martin Short ran out into his limo. |
