| I saw the show August 8th and thought it was very funny; except the baby scene. We laughed and laughed some. Very talented cast as well. A fun evening. |

REALLY DISAPPOINTING. NOT FOR KIDS! Review by: peamom, Aug 14, 2006 |
| The reviewer who said it was great for kids shouldn't be allowed to be a parent. First of all my family and I (yes I regrettably brought the 10 and 12 year old) just didn't think it was funny AT ALL. It had MOMENTS of mild amusement. Other than that it was plain corny, predictable, and NOT FUNNY. There are tons of sexual references and one scene where they come out in body suits with genitals drawn in. I am done trying to ask the theater if it ... read more is suitable for kids. Even if I was just with my husband I wouldn't have thought it was worth the $300 I paid for four after fees thru broadway box. Family definitely not pleased they listened to mom's idea on what to do on a beautiful 79 degree Sunday! |

Martin NOT Short on Laughs Review by: The Nefarious Johnny Mack!, Aug 9, 2006 |
| First let's discuss Mr. Short, His life and his career. He was the ONLY TV comedian to move from SCTV to SNL and the Only SNL former cast member to also do MADtv. He appeared on the LOVE BOAT and L&I, how diverse is that. He has never been in the tabloids involved in any kind of scandal. He is a good clean family man married to the same woman for 25 years. This show was hysterical from start to finish. The cast was fantastic, ... read more Mark Shaiman's music was great. It reminded me of "Forbidden Broadway" - the only difference being it was a professional production, not amateur night. Mr. Short continues to be a "Breath of Fresh Air" on the Great White Way. I am looking for tickets now, so I can see it again! (Marty paid me $5 dollars to say all these nice things about him, I hope he gives me the money!) |

Very So-So Review by: Wicky, Aug 8, 2006 |
Saw it Aug 8. I can't beleive the reviews here. It has a few laughs but mostly its corny and tired (e.g., Jimmy Glick). Bob Costas as the guest perfomer -- weak. This show will not make it so if you want to see it then catch it while you can. |

Long Live Martin Short! Review by: Gatty, Aug 8, 2006 |
| My husband and I went to see a preview of this show on Sunday, 8/6, because we like Martin Short. We came out of the show "loving" Martin Short. The show was everything a comedy/musical should be. Martin and the supporting cast were fabulously talented and the song lyrics were the most clever that I've heard in a long time. We walked out wanting more and would probably see it again. |

"Bravo" from a new Martin Short fan Review by: Bobbi, Aug 7, 2006 |
Hysterical. I am a great fan of his, my husband is neutral, however he loved it alot, and proclaimed that it was among the best we have seen this year. That's equivalent to a bravo. Go see it and enjoy Short and the ensemble--terrific theater.

ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL! Review by: , Aug 6, 2006 |
| My husband and I saw the first show of preview in New York. We did not stop laughing from the time the curtain went up until it came down. I am a huge Martin Short fan. But I can't see how anyone would not love this show, and him, even if you never heard of him before. And all those other people in his one man show are fabulous. If you want to have a couple of hours of fun and you don't mind laughing until your sides hurt then just go see it!... read more! I'm thinking of going again! |

OMG-is this guy funny and talented or what? Review by: theatre mavin, Aug 4, 2006 |
I took the whole family last night for my twin daughters' 12th birthday present. And what a present this show is. I couldn't stop laughing and enjoying myself. My husband, son, and the aforementioned twins also had a fabulous time, although I will say that the more you know Mr. Short's characters, the funnier the scenes will be. The supporting cast was excellent and talented, and other than the Tommy Tune bit, which needed more than the sight gag ... read more to be really funny, the show was cohesive and polished. You can't help but love this guy, and feel the electricity in the theatre (not a reference to the electrocution scene). The entire audience gave the show two standing ovations. The best part of the night for the audience and especially for Martin too, was with the improvised part (I won't give it away) which helps keeps him on his toes with fresh material for every show. We were pleasantly surprised at the music, and the impersonations by the supporting cast were fabulous, especially the young Judy Garland, Joan Rivers and Ellen DeGeneres. This is pure joy--the type of show that makes you feel happy and lucky to be in your seat in the theatre---there were several people in the lobby looking for extra tickets for last night's performance, so I take that as a good sign. Try to get tickets before opening night, because you may be locked out after that. Enjoy!!! |

I laughed so hard I cried !!! Review by: drscot, Aug 3, 2006 |
| I found the show to be extremely funny. There were many times that I was laughing so hard I was crying!! The entire cast are amazing impersonators. Martin Short is certainly the "star" but the rest of the cast is equally amazing. There are moments where the bits didn't work as well, but it's still in previews, so hopefully they will work out the kinks. Overall, a memorable night at the theater !! |

Not Short on Laughs Review by: howaluna, Aug 3, 2006 |
| I went to the show last night with a friend for a good time. Martin Short achieved that for us! We laughed the entire time. Martin’s characters, along with a great Cast, were just too funny. I thought the music was very good too. Who knew Martin could sing? The audience apparently had a great time too (Two standing ovations). I think the audience was completely satisfied. I know I was. It was a real treat. |

not fully baked Review by: phillytheaternut, Aug 2, 2006 |
| as much as i enjoyed myself, i have a feeling that this show has not jelled yet.it seems very scattershot, with an air of hysteria and overexertion trying to put the material over. if your not a fan of martin shorts allready i cant imagine this will make you one. some in the audience seemed to having a good time , others seemed baffled. since its still in previews maybe with the help of play doctors , rewrites, and an act of god theyll get ... read more it together. |
