Must See Production Review by: DC Theatre Guy, Apr 7, 2010 |
Valerie Harper takes control of this play from start to finish. The other actors are really just there to set up her lines up, it really is a one woman production. Love, love, loved this play...and will return to see it again. It is play for adults, so leave your inhibitions and the kiddies at home. |

My teen and I saw Looped Easter Sunday. I remember Talluah from Lifeboat and early tv shows such as her guest appearance on the Lucy/Desi show and I always thought she was this grand, over the top actress who fascinated me as a kid.My teen needless to say had no idea who Talluah was nor ever heard of her. Let me say, we loved the show..Valerie Harper is spectacular as she totally embodies the character from head to toe and from mannerisms to ... read more body movement. She zaps her one liners and dialogue with complete ease as if she were Talluah and plays it all with a cheeky sense of humor. My teen immediately said after the show that Ms Harper should win the Tony as her performance is that great. The other 2 actors do an admirable job to keep the flow of the show going but it's truly a one woman show of tour de force. Go see it for great acting and the embodiment of an an acting legend.

A GREAT SHOW, AMAZING PERFORMANCE BY VALERIE HARPER!!!!! Review by: Ed H, Mar 22, 2010 |
| What a great show!! Valerie Harper was amazing as Tallulah Bankhead. She really delivers the performance of the year, taking the stage from start to finish and delivering the greatest and funniest lines that had the audience roaring. Brian Hutchison also did a remarkable job as the film editor with a secret that gets divulged in the second act.Really enjoyed this show alot. Kudos to all who were involved in bringing something new to the Great ... read more White Way. |

Harper hits a home run! Review by: , Mar 14, 2010 |
Saw Looped on Feb. 25. Was obviously familiar with Valerie Harper but not the other two actors, each of whom complemented Tallulah, I mean Ms. Harper, perfectly. I did not know what kind of show to expect as to story line, but I got the idea early on. Perhaps a different slice of Ms. Bankhead's life might have provided a more dynamic story line, but this one, based on a true incident, was a decent enough vehicle for the ... read more cast. Excellent evening at the theater and congratulations to Ms. Harper and cast. |

Valerie Harper IS Tallulah! Review by: Joe, Mar 8, 2010 |
| Saw the show on March 5th and was blown away by Valerie Harper. Of course, as a kid, I remember her as Rhoda on the Mary Tyler Moore show and her own show Rhoda, which I loved. Since then I've seen her on stage in several shows and she has always been terrific in other roles so I knew she'd be great as Tallulah and she was! Valerie WAS Tallulah. She wasn't doing an impersonation. She was touching as well. The supporting cast ... read more complimented her nicely and were excellent. I highly recommend it and be prepared to laugh. It's a great night out at the theater. Bravo to everyone! |

Review by: IggyCat, Mar 7, 2010 |
| I agree with the prior reviews. Without a doubt the highlight of the show is Valerie Harper's acting. As a prior reviewer noted, she does not play up or try to connect with the audience using her well-known television personality. Quite the opposite: She thoroughly immerses herself in this unique role to the point where you forget her prior work. I have to say I didn't adore the plot or other actors, but the play is solid ... read more enough and the acting more than compensates for any weaknesses in the show. |

A true performance worthy of the talent and your time. See it. Review by: ebl , Mar 6, 2010 |
| Previews Wed. 3 Mar. and a true "performance" by all three cast members. You begin to believe that Harper "IS" Tallulah. Her looks are both her's and Tallulah's. The plot works, but you don't see this until the second act. So well done that you can't criticize the production - only your own lack of knowledge of Tallulah's history and the circumstance surrounding the premise of the play. Great show if you don't know the history, but spend a ... read more few moments and research the background of Tallulah and you will enjoy this performance even more. Not for the Kids! But those who understand that the world has a few flaws and degrees of freedom, and that the characters of this play do a wonderful job of presenting a true "persona" worthy of interest and the production. See it! Top 10 of the last 12 months on B'way. |

Valerie Harper is amazing. Review by: joan, Feb 21, 2010 |
| I saw this last night and was just blown away by Valerie Harper. She was so sunk into the Talulah role that Valerie was barely in sight. I was afraid that she'd be showboating or it would be Rhoda plays Bankhead but she made you forget it was her, and just enjoy the show. Really a marvelous performance. I wish the play was better but the Valerie Harper performance is worth the trip. |
