Go for the storyline Review by: DC Theatre Guy, Apr 7, 2010 |
The story is delightful, and yes, you must like a little tap dancing. Is this the best play ever?...no, more like a college production. But, I walked away with a little happiness in my heart, and for that I would recommend it.

Review by: loveny, Apr 5, 2010 |
| Saw it yesterday. Sadly, it was pathetic. I hate to say it but it was the worst acting i have seen in new york. how could a director allow lines to be delivered this badly- particularly the lead actor. the script was not bad. there were some humorous lines. i felt bad for all involved. the audience was clearly not moved, not even a chuckle for the better lines. it was clear that we all just wanted the thing to be over. all i can figure ... read more is that the actors were hired for their dancing abilities rather than their acting. I loved the premise but the thing just didn't work. embarrassing. |

Mess except for Brandon Davidson Review by: theatreboywonder, Apr 2, 2010 |
| Disappointing show. The concept makes no sense. Why dance? Billy Haines was a Hollywood screen ACTOR...mediocre acting--except for Billy Haines--played by the understudy the night I saw it. He makes this dismal mess worthwhile. |

Great Way to Spend ... Review by: jef, Mar 15, 2010 |
What a wonderful way to spend a rainy day. It was a very thoughtful production with amazing tap dancing. When I looked at the program later I saw no less that 4 of the actors has been in 42nd street. It has just opened and I hope it has a long run. Who is Billy Haines? Bravo! Jason T. Gaffney I will be seeing you again and I hope you have your tap shoes on. jef |
