I am so much better!!!!!!!!! Review by: Mickey, Jan 13, 2008 |
| This show is so much fun and I had a great time. Laura Bell Bundy is outstanding, and I never thought anyone would beat Reese Witherspoons performance, but she was all that and a bag of chips. If you liked Hairspray, this show is very similar in the fact that every number is upbeat, and its all about GIRL POWER. I would recommend this anyday. |

Legally Blonde is 'What You Want'!! Review by: Kristen, Dec 12, 2007 |
| At first, I was not thrilled about Legally Blonde coming to Broadway. I love the movie and was unsure how it would translate into a musical. I found myself pleasantly surprised!! The show was so much fun, I loved it! The dancing was really exciting and the cast was so talented - and I walked away singing all the music. It was the most fun I've had at a Broadway show in a long time. In fact, I bought tickets to go again because I wanted ... read more to bring my family to see it! |

Family Fun Review by: Margaret, Dec 11, 2007 |
| I just saw the show Sunday night, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. I'm not a huge fan of the movie to musical transistion (can you say Wedding Singer?) but this show hits a home run!! My 14 year old daughter and her best friend were desperate to see it. Our two families took them for Hanukkah and we all LOVED it! Even my husband had a great time. The cast was fantastic, the music was bubbly and fun, and the choreography made ... read more us bounce in our seats. Laura Bell Bundy, who plays Elle, is better that Reese Whitherspoon. She has spunk and wit and quiet the voice. We loved it and I would definately reccomend it to everyone. |

Legally Wrong Review by: sonb, Nov 4, 2007 |
Remember when theatre was thought provoking and you walked out feeling engaged and enlightened? When humor was subtle and not so dumbed down? Well, those days are officially over!!! This is by far the worst thing to hit Broadway since Titanic the musical. Really, what were people thinking? I am not against fluff and senseless comedy, but this goes beyond fun and goes straight to ridiculous. If you have any respect for theatre, or yourself, avoid ... read more this fluffy, brainless, plotless piece of Broadway fodder and go and see something that makes you think.
In regards to the performances. Over the top, out of key, and almost as ridiculous as the play itself. Theatre is meant to be a form of art and class and this is far from it. |

“Legally Blonde” reviewed by Beth Mandelbaum Review by: Beth A. Mandelbaum , Oct 29, 2007 |
While I love to praise shows that I see I would have to say that I found “Legally Blonde” to be among the weaker musicals that I have seen. I found “Legally Blonde” to be less emotionally believable or accessible than other musicals of its genre.
For example, I adored “Hairspray” and enjoyed “The Wedding Singer” enormously, both of which I saw last year (it was my third time for Hairspray, and I saw the wedding Singer twice!). I ... read more also loved “All Shook Up” and found “Spring Awakening” to be brilliant.
There are good things to be said about this musical. It has an absolutely wonderful story (I happened to see the movie shortly before seeing the show on TV!), lots of bounce and ebullience with some splendid movement and dance (Jerry Mitchell did a fine job), some touching and some clever songs, and a very fine and hardworking cast.
I thought that Laura Bell Bundy did a highly spirited and spunky job, and has a truly fine voice. My true favorites in the company were Christian Borle and Orfeh, whom, I have to admit, was only a name to me before I saw her in this show. I found her to be truly hilarious, warm and emotionally honest, with a killer voice. And Christian Boyle was wonderful, with winning and caring personality and excellent voice. To be honest, I found the scenes with Orfeh and those with Christian Boyle to be the most emotionally affecting parts of the show for me. It is, however, possible to just have fun.
Among my favorite songs are “Blood in the Water,” which I found to be hilariously satirical; “Ireland” (which I thought was a scream!); “So Much Better”, the title song (which I found quite moving); the scene when Paulette (Orfeh) and the UPS delivery man (I only remember his middle name, Brendan!) get together and the ensemble breaks into a “River dance” parody; and the “Find My Way” finale. I would like to add that I am a fan of the work of Laurence O’Keefe, whose musical “Bat Boy” I saw several times.

One of my least fave Broadway plays Review by: Canadian Broadway buff, Oct 25, 2007 |
| I have seen the movie several times. It's a good Sunday afternoon light movie. This musical version did absolutely nothing for me. Some big chorus numbers were ok after intermission. I left before the audience finished applauding. Thank God I only paid $44 |

Fluffy! Review by: Reviewer, Sep 30, 2007 |
If you're a hard-core lover of more traditional Broadway then don't go see this. However, if you are just going to have a good time then go see it. Laura Bell Bundy was as good as anyone can get in the part of Elle. Amazing singer, dancer, and actor. The whole cast was. The music was very entertaining, funny, and addicting. It was much more fluffy than the movie. It was the fluffiest show I have ever seen, and this ... read more can be a bad thing or a good one, depending on your taste. Personally I enjoy shows with more depth, but I guess it was a nice change for once. And what else can you expect from Legally Blonde other than fluff? Although I will give it some credit and say that it was a little more than fluff. It was very solid fluff. |

Review by: Lin, Sep 28, 2007 |
| I saw the show on September 20th. We wanted a fun night out and that is exactly what we got. We like the film and have seen it many times. Some of the characters and plot points are excised for the sake of time,no problem. It is an upbeat show with high energy. I would recommend it to anyone. |

JUST HORRIBLE!! Review by: MYnameISpenny, Sep 20, 2007 |
| I just saw this show and it was THE WORST thing I've seen in my life. I'm SERIOUS! How could they take something that was TOTAL fluff and make it FLUFFIER!?!! It's just WRONG! The cast, medicore but Bundy was very good. Music was HORRIBLE! I'm serious, it sounded like they just jotted down a bunch of notes and words. ("Omigod you Guys"?!?!?! )I seriuously wish I had spent my money on something else. If you are visiting to NY - GO SEE WICKED, ... read more SPAMALOT, OR HAIRSPRAY ( Hairspray and Wicked recomended )Unless, you are a fan of bubble-fum pop music and don't care about anything esle - GO RIGHT AHEAD - Take all the seriousness out of your brain. |

My favorite part of New York City Review by: Small Town Girl In The Big City, Sep 19, 2007 |
| This show was wonderful. It left just enough from the movie to make it just as great but changed enough to leave you guessing what would come next. It is heartfelt, genuine, and a great family show. Everyone should see it if they get the chance. It was the highlight of my trip across the country. Everything from scene desigs and transitions to the lyrics and acting was incredible. |

Good Show Review by: Consider myself a good judge for review, Sep 10, 2007 |
| Saw show on 9/9/07. I thought Elle (Bundy) was probably as talented as a person can get. I thought she was completely entertaining and very talented. The show was good. I still am a huge Hairspray fan and can't help but to wonder how she would probably be fantastic in that show. Have I seen worse? Definetly - Tarzan. Have I seen better? yes, Hairspray. All and all it was entertaining and I thought had a storyline that kept you interested.... read more. Could I have waited for discounted tickets, yes. But still not disappointed that I paid full price. |
