Best on off Broadway Review by: Simon, Apr 18, 2008 |
I saw it a month ago and still think of it. One of those theater pieces that chase you for a long time. Highly recommended, but be prepared to have actors dance with you or throw water on you (they actually do that...) |

Rare Theater: Awe inspiring, entertaing, and full of depth Review by: David, Feb 10, 2008 |
| Went to see "Last Jew in Europe" with my girlfriend. I expected much, based on a recommendation from a business associate, and I'm happy inform that we were truly rewarded. The show is mind boggling in its depth, entertaining in its presentation and awe inspiring in its message. Granted, this show is not for everybody: if you like your shows McDonald's style, predictable and simple, this is not for you. But if you like to see true theater in its ... read more most brilliance, this one is for you. |

Highly amateur production with very good actors Review by: fergus, Jan 2, 2008 |
Hats of to the actors for bringing life to a poorly directed, poorly conceived, childishly written farce of a farce, filled with entirely unsupported "theatrical" conventions. I would be honored to sit through a play that dealt with the important issue of rising anti-semitism on a thoughtful, moving, sophisticated level, it is indeed a profoundly important topic. However the writer's and the director's portrayal of mormons, nazi's, poles,... read more, christians and jews are one dimensional panderings to inherently racist stereotypes lending dignity to none and shame to all.
And on a production note... if you are going to play a scene in the dark you must support that choice with text and action, if you are going to place your actors in and around the audience for the entire piece (including many of their costume changes), you must support that choice with text and action. Either all the props are real or all the props are mimed, it is not acceptable to use a real vodka bottle and a mimed book.. unless somehow you support that choice with text and action.

An Evening You'll Never Forget Review by: Elizabeth, Oct 16, 2007 |
| This is a show I'll never forget, it touched every bone and sense in me. Playing in the audience, the actors are superb--in a magnificent play. You feel like transported to another land, and suddenly realize what a society can do to itself if it chooses to hate and discriminate. A must see! |

Don't Bother! Review by: , Mar 26, 2007 |
| We were a party of 4 who usually disagree on how good a production we see is. This time we were unanimous, we all were disappointed. The seating is very uncomfortable. There are also lots of stairs to climb all to see a show with the actors having accents so heavy, we missed a lot of the dialogue. The premise sounded promising, but at a theater that doesn't accept credit cards, offers poor seating and an amateruish performance, PASS ... read more THIS ONE UP! |

Still have to digest the experience of last night Review by: PJ, Mar 14, 2007 |
Feelings are mixed. May be I am asking too much or going too deep. Is the play presented as a comedy, a farce, because the subject is too painful?
Is it that in order to understand reality, you have to exaggerate it? With a little luck, the play may get to a larger theater, still I believe it needs some polishing , before it gets there. They are doing a worthy job. They carry a message, they unveil duplicity and deeply embedded ... read more anti-semitism, in the disguise of comedy, in order to make it more palatable to the public. Acting is not exactly their 'forte'. In this play, the subject has the best part. Daniel Shafer, as the Mormon is rather good.
