| Honestly, I didn't expect too much before seeing this show, but now i can truly say that this was absolutley amazing. Comedic wise, this is probably the best show i've seen, and the story line was beautiful. |

A Sorry Production Review by: ridr44, Apr 17, 2011 |
| I am sorry to say that this was a very poor production. I have seen better productions of La Cage at my local college. Firstly the theater was way too small, the orchestra too diminutive, and the voices of the leads weak and uninspiring. If Broadway is to produce a show as wonderful and moving as La Cage, it should be a huge production with a full orchestra and bring the house down with full vocals, a gaggle of those super great cagelles, and ... read more music accompaniment to match. I cannot believe that with all the talent around that better lead actors cannot be found. Hat's off to Harvey Fierstein for writing one of the greatest tributes to love and acceptance but he should not be acting in it. |

CAGELLES CAGELLES CAGELLES! Review by: MJ , Apr 15, 2011 |
I would say, catch it before it runs out on May 1st. Harvey Fierstein's voice was way too husky for me, Hodge definitely had a level of voice more womanly and gentle. But for all other factors, this show is a blast. i had so much fun for the first act, the Cagelles were SO MUCH FUN! Do catch the door girl aka LILI WHITEASS aka Todd Lattimore. Beautiful, gorgeous, funny piece of ass. And Sieber, talented. So is guy who played Jean-Michel.... read more. The highlight, still has to be the Cagelles... LOVE THEM!!!! |

Good show but... Review by: sylvia, Mar 25, 2011 |
| I saw the show twice with Kelsy Grammer, Doug Hodge, Fred Applegate, and Allyce Beasley. It was fantastic. To be able to escape into that world for two and a half hours was like heaven for me. It was wonderful. Now I'm not so enthused. I saw it last night. I can't believe that Georges is actually Jean-Michel's father, in any case, older brother maybe. I also can't see Chris and Harvey as a couple. And who is the goon playing Dindon. At least ... read more Mr Applegate understood his character. His only saving grace is the gal from moonlighting playing his wife. Luckily she shines enough for the both of them. Harvey is a force of nature of course, but he should have stayed the writer. A.J. Shively and Elena Shaddow are fantastic. Perfect. and Chris Hoch is as always, great at every role he plays. |

What happened? Review by: sylvia, Mar 24, 2011 |
| I saw the show in august of last year, and I thought it was wonderful. then I saw it again in November, and Douglas and Kelsey were both great again. But I noticed they were lucky enough to have the gal from moonlighting in the cast. I really didn't notice Mme. Dindon when I saw it in August, but thought Ms Beasley really made her something special. The Cagelles were fantastic. And Fred Applegate was great as Deputy Dindon again. I just saw it ... read more two nights ago. I don't know what they are doing. Its nothing like it was. Harvey is Harvey, the kids are good, but who is the guy playing Dindon? One note. Luckily Ms Beasley rises above his energy. and once again, the Cagelles are great. |

Review by: Barry, Mar 24, 2011 |
| I saw the show on Tues 3-22 & it is the best production of it that I have ever seen. Just as he did in "Fiddler On The Roof", Harvey takes over a role & revitalizes it. Chris Sieber is great as Georges & his singing is fantastic. I don't know how long they are contrcted to be in the show together so RUN don't walk to see it! |

New Cast is INCREDIBLE, a CAN'T MISS SHOW! Review by: Broadway lover, Mar 21, 2011 |
The new cast is brilliant... Harvey is the perfect fit for a role he wrote but never intended to play, Chris is an incredible surprise (considering he stepped in after Tambor's abrupt leave), and Wilson Jermaine Heredia more than lives up to his Tony Award as the hilarious maid. The dancers are divine and I could just hug the women who play Jacqueline and Mme. Dindon, they just seem so lovely! Overall, the show isn't for the ... read more most conservative theatre-goer or the one who wants to attend a show in a tux/gown, but it's absolutely the show for someone who wants to have fun, laugh, and enjoy the festivities! |

Harvey IS LaCage Review by: TheGazz, Mar 21, 2011 |
| This production of LaCage is the best I have ever seen -- and I have seen them all. Becasue of the intimate theater space and the scaled down production, this production gives the true story of LaCage a chance to shine above the huge production numbers. Still visually spectacular with all the dance and camp, the heart of this show is bigger than it ever has been. And frankly, you've never seen LaCage untill you have seen it with Harvey. It ... read more IS HIM and HE IS IT. I had no interest in going to see "another" LaCage, but when he took over, I ran to get tickets and am happy I did. Christopher Siebert was also a big surprise. He was phenomenal as Georges. He completely embodied everything Georges was supposed to be. The production was special on it's own, but seeing Harvey actually PERFORM this role ...I was honored to be present in the audience |

Review by: CAM_27, Jan 12, 2011 |
| I went to see La Cage the week after Christmas and I've been singing ever since. My face actually hurt from smiling so much...I loved it from beginning to end. Kelsey Grammar is great and Douglas Hodge is worth the price of admission. As I left the theater, I just wanted to turn around and see it once again...it was that good. Light, funny, heart-warming...just a perfect evening of entertainment. |

The show has changed for the worse since it opened earlier this year Review by: PENNY, Nov 21, 2010 |
| I first saw the current production, I believe, in April 2010 and loved it. I saw La Cage Aux Folles once again on November 17, Wednesday evening. The show has changed for the worse. The cross dressing dancers are now crude and unfunny. The dancer who stands outside the theatre and later speaks to the audience was charming, sweet and delightful in april, but is now vulgar. Mr. Grammer looks tired and loses his voice and singing voice occasionally.... read more. Mr. Hodge is a very talented, comedic actor, but he appears a little tired now, as well. The performances seem rote now, and not spontaneous. In April Mr. Grammer and possibly Mr. Hodge, as well, came into the first couple of rows of the audience and shook hands cheerfully. They no longer are doing this. Nothing in the show is cheerful now. |

The Kings New Folles Review by: goldenboy, Nov 16, 2010 |
I've seen many productions of La Cage Aux Folles. I have liked them all. This is the first time a production of this show to be=annoying, cheap and vulgar. Critics and audiences seem to like this one.. I do not. I find Douglas Hodge annoying, over the top, unbelievable and not a good singer. He is not funny. He is insulting in an Uncle Tom to gays type of manner. I think this is worth of an acceptable dinner theatre ... read more productton and does not deserve to on Broadway. . Badly and cheaply staged. Five musicians for a Broadway Show?? You have got to be kidding me. For me it can't close soon enough. |

Heartwarming, Hilarious and Fun! Review by: , Nov 16, 2010 |
| From the moment we joined the audience we were engaged and laughing. Douglas Hodge was absolutely endearing as Albin and Kelsey Grammar was superb as his leading man. Alice Beasley was the perfect counterpart to Fred Applegate's pompous personna. The dancers were gorgeous, talented and simply amazing! The entire cast was phenomenol. If you are looking for a show that will leave you smiling, this is the one! |
