An outstanding Irish drama Review by: stagestrucknyc.com, Oct 15, 2006 |
| John Ferguson is about a sick and impoverished Ulster farmer of intense Protestant faith. The farmer has a beautiful daughter, a mortgage that is due, and a cruel and lecherous lender who holds the deed. While this sounds like the formula plot of a silent film melodrama, the unfolding of the plot and characters is surprisingly supple and inventive. The actors and direction are superb. This is a real gem. I would recommend it to anyone who ... read more enjoys good drama. |
