| light, fun, enjoyable. Lots of laughs. No musical numbers, strictly an old fashioned comedy. cast perfect. a real surprise. if they are still offering significant discounts, see this show before they wise up. you do not need to be a mark twain fan to appreciate. |

Highly entertaining! Review by: jalma, Dec 18, 2007 |
If you want to see a show that is light, charming, and funny, this is it. I did not know what to expect. The two hours flew by and everyone in the audience was laughing out loud. All actors were in top form. It is a good time in the theater.
Speaking of the theater, I sat in the mezzanine. I think there is not a bad seat up there. Don't know about the orchestra.
Go and enjoy. You'll be glad you did. |

Hilarious Butz Review by: Eleah, Dec 13, 2007 |
| It was a fantastic show with great acting. The most stand out performer was the hilarious Norbert Leo Butz. The minute he becomes a woman the show's pace picks up and the audience is entranced by the show. |

LAUGH, laugh, laugh some more! Review by: RALPHIE, Dec 12, 2007 |
| Much comedy these days --- whether on stage, in movies, or particularly on TV -- has one serious flaw: They DO NOT make you laugh. Not really. There is no such problem with IS HE DEAD. It is simply laugh-out-loud funny; not just a few laughs here and there, but continual ongoing bellylaughs virtually from start to finish. Nuff said! |

BELLY LAUGHS ALL THE WAY HOME Review by: theatremaven, Dec 12, 2007 |
| Excellent SHOW. IT was hysterical with a terrific ensemble cast. Belly laughs from the whole audience. I haven't seen something this funny on broadway since Carol Burnett starred in Moon Over Buffalo. If you like a good farce and a good laugh go. |

Wish Mark Twain was still alive to write another! Review by: EKN from CT, Dec 10, 2007 |
GREAT!!!! I've been trying to get my husband to a show for years (all of the 37 we're married, plus) but this was the first he's seen. HE CAN"T WAIT TO GO BACK!! The actors were all at their peak, the sets outstanding, the theater so impressive, and MARK TWAIN, I wish you were still alive to write another farce! EKN from CT |

Run to the Lyceum! You won't be sorry. Review by: Skip, Dec 6, 2007 |
| I saw this show on Tuesday,December 4th and was purely entertained. It was an extremely fast-paced comedy, not to mention the fact that it was originally written by Mark Twain. The acting was superb, the set design quite interesting. The audience responded very positively, with belly laughs abounding. It was a fast two hours and you left the theatre feeling good...just what we need in our not-so-perfect world. I must see this show another ... read more time, to see if there is something I missed and to once again, laugh out loud. Run to the Lyceum. You won't be sorry. |

What a fun show! Review by: Tex, Dec 6, 2007 |
Saw the 8:00pm show on Dec. 5th and what a great surprise! Who knew Mark Twain was such a funny farce writer? The ENTIRE CAST was excellent and the two sets that they used in the show were great! I went because I had no idea what to expect and I'm so glad I did. I give Kudos to the CAST because they really brought this show to life by giving it 110% It's a show you could bring your family to and not cringe at certain points. A great ... read more holiday treat! |

A Must See!!! Review by: Art Critic, Dec 6, 2007 |
| I found it an uplifting comedic farce full of energy and fire. An excellent re-working for our own times of a 19th century comic look at the realties of art and commerce, love, gender and relationships. The acting was forceful and brilliantly played. The third act, pulsed with dynamic energy led by Norbert Leo Butz who seemed to rally the cast, proving their excellence of artistic performance in every role so conceived. Energy, dynamism, power ... read more just what a comedic farce needs to send it over the top. A must see! |

LAUGH TILL YOU CRY. Review by: Jan, Dec 6, 2007 |
My husband and I got matinee tickets for Dec. 5. I laughed until the tears started. It made our NYC trip the best ever. Maybe you have to love Mark Twain and not be intimidated by drag. It was hysterically funny. 10 thumbs up!!! (5 people) |

It's not Rocket Science, but It's Damn Funny Review by: Nico, Dec 6, 2007 |
The story is predictable, but the production is amazingly well done. I wondered as I read the program why this play was filled with Musical Theatre actors. Then, I saw how well utilized these versatile players were, my questions were answered.
Norbert is brilliant, and works hard! He makes the evening worthwhile.
And if you appreciate design--wait until you see the transformation at intermission! |
