| Loved it and so did my family. We took our kids, 18, 16, and 14 and we all thought it was an amazing story with amazing music and talent. Go see it. If you liked Rent, you will for sure love it. |

Good Relationships Review by: Carol, Aug 16, 2009 |
| This is a good play for young people showing the support of a community for its outstanding members and the way that everyone's part interweaves with others' lives. |

A Musical With Heart Review by: John, Aug 13, 2009 |
| Go see this show. The writing is very good. The acting was energetic and on point. The entire production bursts with life and joy. It has been a long time since I felt this enthusiastic about a show. Yeah, yeah...I get that people think the story is weak. I have this to say in rebuttal: when was the last time you saw a show that dealt with real everyday people dealing with real everyday issues? When was the last time you saw a show ... read more in which every character in it cared about the other characters? If you are looking for a show with falling chandeliers and snarky in-jokes about other shows, stay away from this one. If you are looking for heart, come join the rest of us who love this play. |

Met the cast! Review by: alibee, Aug 13, 2009 |
Loved the show, excellent score, fun modern-day lyrics, fantastic acting and knock-your-socks off choreography! Went with my friend who has enjoyed Wicked and Rent with me--and she loved it too. My eight year old loved it and any sexual references went over her head. My friend's 13 year old daughter loved the show. Her 17 year old son thought it was "good" Got the seats in row S orchestra, good visibility despite mezzanine overhang. ... read more Lingered at the theater to get autographs and we were invited down to sit in the first 2 rows for an impromptu meet-and-greet with Benny, Nina, Daniela, the dance captain, and ensemble cast members--this was obviously pre-arranged for 3 different groups but we were assumed to be part of one of them without realizing it. When we left, the actors met us outside for pics and autographs--some had their own sharpies but Nina did not- B.Y.O.S. :-) |

Great Show - Terrible seating set up Review by: Hoba, Jul 30, 2009 |
| Watch where you get your tickets. You can stuck under an overhang if you sit orchestra more than 20 rows back. This definitely takes away from the experience because it cuts off 1/2 the stage - be aware of this and dont buy tickets unless you are in first 15-20 rows. Regardless this is a very good show - don't miss it. |

One more who was a bit underwhelmed Review by: FrisbieCat, Jul 14, 2009 |
I have to tag along with Dharma and Roscoj and say I was a tad disappointed by this show. Dharma said it well--like her, I certainly wouldn't tell people to avoid this show. The story, songs, and acting were all good. But that's just it--I can't say much more than "good". The story seemed a bit predictable and underdeveloped. The songs were okay but none of them stuck with me; I much preferred the new score for Next to ... read more Normal and the old one for Hair. By all means, see the show and be prepared to be entertained, but maybe not blown away or really moved by the performance. |

I agree with Roscoe! Review by: Dharma, Jul 8, 2009 |
| I don't get the hype either; I didn't really enjoy this at all - there's a few laughs and the last song is pretty good, but that's about it. The cast is likeable and has a lot of energy though, so I won't say not to see it, but I personally wouldn't want to see it again like some shows I go to that I see more than once. |

Not was I was hoping for... Review by: roscoj, Jul 2, 2009 |
| I wanted to like this show. I really did. I took my girlfriend who is also involved in theater in NYC and I have to say we were dissapointed. We thought the book was paper thin and there was no development between songs. We did not see the original leads, except for Manuel's sidekick, who was awesome. Otherwise, the acting was atrocious and the music unmemorable. Don't get the hype. |

ONE OF THE BEST! Review by: Broadwayfanatic, Jul 2, 2009 |
WOW! I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this show! First of all, the music and lyrics were great. Its not like a traditional musical- music-wise- Its rap, r & b, merenque, salsa, etc. I loved it! It was upbeat, contemporary, modern. The set was outstanding! You truly felt like you were on the streets of Washington Heights. There were no set changes, but there really was no need to have one. The acting and signing, were phenomenal! ... read more I found it to be witty, uplifting, funny, AMAZING! I have seen MANY shows (Rent, Wicked, Hairspray, Mary Poppins, Grease, Chicago, Cabaret, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Marvelous Wonderettes, In the Heights) and In the Heights is right up there with my favorites. I highly recommend this show to EVERYONE! I got 5th Row Orchestra seats, it was a steal, and I would pay twice as much to see it again!

Review by: karldelo, Jul 2, 2009 |
| I just watched and I am going back probably 4 or 5 more times. is is the most amazing show, I think that it is better than Lion King. Also, they have a scholarship program and they are holding an auction some prizes are a dinner with Lin Manuel Miranda, a salsa lesson with a character on the show, and even a walk-on role on the show. |

Esta obra de teatro es 'my fantastica.' Review by: WON400, Jun 21, 2009 |
For starters, I hate Rap. I can't understand the hip/hop generation; quite often, it sounds as if they are singing/rapping with a mouth full of oatmeal. BUT, Usnavy in "In The Heights," is an excpetion to this rap rule. His diction and enunciation are impeccable. I don't know how he maintains this for the entire play, but he does. His voice is as clear in the finale as it was in the intro. Couple this with a very believable plot line,... read more, and where the characters take on their individual identities very clearly well before the intermission, and you have characters you care about; you emphasize with their individual and group problems. Add some fantastic singing voices and some well choreographed dance numbers, and you have a real winner. What more do you need? Nada; "In The Heights" is a clear winner. I would see it again in a heartbeat.

Fun, fun, fun! Review by: NurseChris, Jun 19, 2009 |
| I'm of the same opinion as everyone else. This was a very enjoyable show. I, too, didn't know if I was going to like it being 52 y.o., but I jloved it! The music and lyrics were memorable and sure to become classics. My only complaint is that the orchestra tended to be too loud and overwhelming during some of the production numbers. Surprisingly, you could hear the lyrics better during solos or duets. |
