IN THE DAYLIGHT is a thrilling ride Review by: burt frances, Sep 18, 2009 |
| IN THE DAYLIGHT is brilliant. Tony Glazer created a world where what is horrible and unthinkable merges with that which is charming, seductive, recognizable. The piece is hysterical and kept me at the edge of my seat... tilting my head. Powerful dialogue. Powerful acting. Rockstar set. Thrilling. |

Might Even Make You Appreciate Your Own Family! Review by: srozzzzz, Sep 17, 2009 |
| Saw IN THE DAYLIGHT this week - highly recommend it - strong writing, fine acting, cool set. While described by some as dark, I found it very funny - a thriller that makes you laugh - helps you appreciate your own family more too. GO SEE IT - in the daylight or in the evening! |

Great play, great dialogue, dynamic set. Definitely worth going! Review by: theatreluva, Sep 16, 2009 |
The beautiful gleaming stark-white set when you first step into the theatre was at first breathtaking, and then unsettling. This immediately set the tone for the piece before a word had been spoken or a light had dimmed. Overall, I think its a very smart dark play with some interesting twists to keep you engaged. I think the dialogue is quick, witty and melodic. I was fortunate to see this playwrights other play "Stain" which also ... read more featured some great dialogue that sounded so natural that at times I forgot I was watching a play. My only complaint is the mother. She seemed to be in a show of her own...gestures and facial expressions more akin to outdoor amphitheatre melodrama. Though the dynamic with her children was good, it was just uneven with her playing at her role like a evil villain so we instantly don't like her. Also, the "fan" girl needed to calm down the accent. It was distracting and a bit annoying and wasn't fully necessary to me. Again, kinda in another play. The daughter was fantastic, especially with the difficult material towards the end of the play. This playwright has a real skill with dialogue and with creating a great atmosphere for the world of his plays. I think "thriller" theatre can be difficult to do without looking cheesey or making a spoof, but Mr. Glazer is a talented and skilled artisan who can do so, and make you believe it. |

Smart, smart - keep an eye on this show! Review by: Alleycat, Sep 13, 2009 |
| Witty, intelligent writing at its best. I was drawn into the story, and most importantly, it gave my friends and I several hours of discussion topic at drinks afterwards! |

Dark horse drama/comedy Review by: Jim, Sep 12, 2009 |
| Great show. In a seductive first act we eavesdrop on the reluctant homecoming of a prodigal son and his acerbic interactions with his 'mommie dearest' and sis. The brilliantly dark and twisted second act reveals a shocking family history and entwines these three in a 'project' reminiscent of Hitchcock. Great acting all around and Ms. Tomei, in particular, is a 'must see'. Wonderfully edgy. |

Very dark and funny murder mystery! Review by: Theatrefan76, Sep 12, 2009 |
| I loved this play! It's an old-style murder mystery only told in a modern setting. Great writing, directing and acting! The design elements are amazing! Can't reccommend enough! |
