A HUGHmongous hit! The JACKman of all trades! Review by: MR. BROADWAY, Nov 27, 2011 |
He sings. He dances. He acts. Simply put, there is no actor on Broadway as versatile as Hugh Jackman. Since I missed seeing him in the "Boy from Oz", i vowed that I would never pass on coming to New York if he appeared in another musical or one man show.
Boy, was I glad I purchased seats as soon as they went on sale. Of the five shows that I saw this year, Hugh Jackman was the best. Better than the "Book ... read more of Mormon"!
He clearly had the audience eating out of his hands. The two hours flew by as if he was on stage for only ten minutes. Mr. Jackman received countless standing ovations.Perhaps the best part of his show was his medley of songs from the "Boy from Oz"at the outset of the second act. Mr. Jackman transformed himself into Peter Allen, gold sequin jumpsuit and all.
Regardless of the price, go see this show. It is a shame that Mr.Jackman has to do another Wolverine movie and this show will close on Jan.1,2012. He may not be the "Boy next door" but he is the best talent that Broadway has ever and will ever see!
