| I wake up today to read some reviews of this play and I just don't get it. I saw it two weeks ago and was floored--the acting was top-knotch, the design, the ease of the production. I have been going to the theatre for forty years, and this was one of the best shows I have EVER seen. To witness the downfall of this man, through simple yet poignant short scenes, is a wonder to behold. Relationships are clear in quick sentences, looks, etc., ... read more and the ensemble is brilliant. For any fan of acting, I would recommend this show wholeheartedly. I read the daily reviews and I guess these critics were comatose when they saw HOWARD KATZ--maybe they've seen too many airings of AMERICAN IDOL to pay attention to a brilliant, brilliant production. Go...and support good theater. |

Ensemble, book, and Molina failed to
transfer believability and affect to Howard Katz.
Mr. Katz, under the threat of his unraveling
life, threatens to commit suicide several times and leave his horror, family and job.I just wanted
to leave early which I did.
