A Hairy Experience Review by: Mr. C, Aug 25, 2011 |
I saw it wiht my wife yesterday and it was just as exciting (the misuic is great) as it was when I saw it 42 years ago on Broadway. I may have less hair but the show brought basck many great memories. If you were young in the era of the 60's it is a must show to see. Enjoy it and let your hair down (if youn still have some remaining). |

More powerful than I expected! Would like to share it with others! Review by: Wish I Were a "Rich" Man, Aug 10, 2011 |
| Actually having lived through that difficult time in the history of our nation (I was a college sophomore in 1969) and went face to billy stick and tear gas during the demonstrations that I and my fellow students too to the streets. As a hobby in the late 60's, I myself was involved with musical theater, practiced law for several decades before the pounding of the greasepaint became so over whelming that I auditioned for and was cast in a ... read more regional production of "South Pacific", in which I played Emille DeBecque 7 years later at the community level at which I also performed in "Annie Get Your Gun" during this latter 7 year hiatus as well as an original musical theatre piece in Westchester County which included a vignette from "Hair", though only the light fare ("Aquarius, etc.). I had never even seen the production before and it made a tremendous relational impact on my life. I do hope they will extend the limited run so that I may have an opportunity to share this wonderfully powerful and historically significant production with other members of my family. Thank you. |

Don't miss out! Review by: Leslie, Jul 24, 2011 |
| What an incredible theatre experience. I've never felt so connected to a cast before. They make every effort to get out into the audience and allow you to feel involved...special...and a part of the show. And how many times can you say you danced on a Broadway stage? Loved this show. Great songs, great interaction. Catch it before it leaves NYC in September! |

Fantastic show! Review by: BroadwayFan 18235, Jun 2, 2010 |
| A classic show that has stood the test of time. I would recommend it for older teenagers and adults because of the mature themes. It is a great representation of an era long gone but still full of relevence today. The new cast is fantastic and full of energy!! You can and will be part of the show and will have a blast in doing so. Do yourself a favor and don't miss this before it is gone. Just one more suggestion; take the time to meet the ... read more cast at the stage door afterwards, they are a great group of people. |

HAIR, too in your face.......less is more.... Review by: Cath, May 31, 2010 |
I would like to share with you that sums up how I felt about The play " HAIR " In poetry less is usually more. When a writer holds back the emotion , then the reader(patron)supplies it, and it's always much more deeply felt. When the writer GUSHES all over the place, the effect just isn't the same..... This play could have been.......but was not...... |

Great show, everyone should see it! Review by: Stacy, May 13, 2010 |
Hair was an AMAZING show and I urge everyone to go see it. We went for a Wednesday afternoon and you wouldn't believe how much fun it was. Acting, dancing, singing--all fantastic, and the band was incredible. Get in the orchestra and, if possible, get an aisle seat. You will be sorry if you sit in the balcony--the interaction of the tribe with the audience is totally worth it. While we loved each person on the stage and think all around they ... read more are an amazing ensemble, Jason Wooten, who plays Woof, was particularly wonderful. That man has quite a career ahead of him. Now, a word to the audience: please be respectful of those people around you. I can see it when a tribe member may be hovering over you or handing you flowers or whatever--and chatting a little with them, but we had a group of women in the row behind us that talked nonstop through the whole show. There was even a mini argument when someone else asked them to please be quiet. People come to Broadway and pay good money for the show, not to hear you. Another 2 women burst out of the middle of our row during curtain call, in a drastic effort to be the first on the stage for the dance party. They play 2 songs and there is plenty of time to go up there. One stomped on my foot pretty hard (and I was wearing sandals) and left a quarter sized bruise. Not only that, it was disrespectful to those taking bows and those in the row standing and clapping for them. Just because there is audience interaction, doesn't mean it's a giant party just for you. Also, they didn't have cell phones in 1967. Two rang during the show. You are not that important that you can't turn it off for an hour. So go, have fun, enjoy it and be kind to others. It is a great show. |

So Much Fun! Review by: Kaitlyn , May 12, 2010 |
| I've now seen Hair 2 times and I still think about the amazing times I had. The second time I saw it I enjoyed it a lot although I knew what was coming, which was both good and bad. However, that is how it is whenever you see a show twice. The cast is phenominal, the music is phenominal, and the amount of fun you will have is beyond belief. You close off your day dancing on stage with the cast; does it get better than that??? The ... read more second act isn't nearly as good as the 1st act, there is a very slow part with mother theresa i believe which is in the middle of the second act. I definitly think the show is appropriate for teenagers but I wouldn't expect people under 13 to realy enjoy and understand the show. It is very sexual, with a lot of adult jokes! I had a young girl in front of me with her dad and you could tell she felt uncomfortable with the nude scene looking the other way but hey it's hair and before you go you should read up on it to know there is a nude scene. The cast gives it 100% and the audience interaction adds to the experience. I highly recommend the show and it will want you coming back for me. If you wait by the stage door within 20 minutes you will have taken pixs and gotten autographs from the entire cast who are nothing but wonderful to the fans. |

SO MUCH FUN! Review by: bwayfan13, May 12, 2010 |
| I saw this show with my cousin, aunt, and mom, and thought it was okay. I went back two weeks later with a friend, and thought it was great. A few weeks later I went back with a diffrent friend, and I loved it. It is a show you want to be in the front orchestra for, and have a good time at. It is also much betetr if you know the music. |

Loved it even more then when I saw the original in the 60's Review by: FGSF, May 9, 2010 |
| My kids took me to see it - first row seats! I saw the original in the late 60's when I was in High School, and enjoyed it more this time around. The acting was fine, but it was more the emotion and energy the blew me away. It tells an important story about the Viet Nam era so it is much more then an enjoyable musical. The cast interacts with the audience - if this is something that would bother you, don't get first row tickets like we did.... read more. Personally, I thought it added to the quality of the performance and audience enjoyment. My kids enjoyed it but I should have told them to listen to the music first (they are adults - I would not recommend this for a young child as there is plenty of sexual content. Best revival of a play I have ever seen. |

ONE OF MY FAVORITES Review by: MaggieKo, Mar 27, 2010 |
| This show is absolutely fanastic. I went with my parents and we loved it so much that we purchased tickets to go again. The music is so good as well as the acting and singing. The director/producer of the play actual sings in the opening number which gives the play a personal feel. I would not reccomend it for younger children because there is some nudety but other then that it is a must see. This play is truly amazing and I can not do it ... read more justice. At the end everyone is allowed to go on stage and dance with the cast, which was extremly fun. I love how they incorporated the audience and used the whole theater to perform. If you go you i would reccomend getting an aisle seat, for they come up to you and play with your hair, etc. |
