Disappointing.... Review by: Theater-Goer, May 22, 2009 |
Groundswell is a quasi-suspenseful, at times tedious, and a cliche driven script, and definitely no where near on par with Athol Fugard, the pre-eminent writer from South Africa. Although there are some decent acting moments, especially from Mr. Lansbury, there are disingenuous and gratuitous yelling/flair-ups, etc., which do not advance the story but rather interrupt the flow of the play. It's not worth the ticket price, ... read more especially since there are so many wonderful discounted plays/musicals on Broadway and Off which you can see for around the same price.
