| Saw the play with my two kids and they loved it! I thought it was ok. I think I was too familiar with it, having been a Grease fan since I was a kid. Overall, lots of fun, maybe a bit overpriced, but worth it. |

We Did It Better in High School Review by: LINDSAY, Dec 16, 2007 |
| Show was very unemotional. No chemistry between the cast...they all seemed to be going through the movements only. Max and Laura are out of their league. I saw the original cast on Broadway and the show was exciting, a little racy, and so much fun. This was dull....dulll....dullll. You get a better show at Ellen's Stardust Diner! |

GREASE is a mixed bag. Review by: RALPHIE, Nov 11, 2007 |
This is a fine revival of GREASE, somewhat better than the original. MAX and LAURA from the TV reality show are good but in no way outstanding. What they have done, though, is provide a successful means of box office hype. I don't think the show is good enough to sustain its sellout status or high ticket price.
GREASE pokes good natured fun at the music of the '50's -- which is way-superior to today's pop music -- whereas THE JERSEY ... read more BOYS offers the real thing. The trouble with GREASE is excessive familiarity. Been there, done that. However, if you think you'll enjoy GREASE chances are very good that you won't be disappointed.
A real sour note is the Actor's Fund AIDS collection. I don't think a collection for Sexually Transmitted Disease is appropriate and AIDS isn't the only one out there, but definitely Broadway's favorite. Boo, hiss! |

Review by: mimi, Nov 2, 2007 |
| Saw Grease last evening (11/1/07) and enjoyed it very much. I had watched the TV reality show and couldn't wait to see Max and Laura on Broadway. Max's performance was very very good. His dancing blew me away. Laura's performance was not as convincing as Max's although her voice was delightful. I expected to see a more starring role for both of them. Some of the supporting characters were on stage as much if not more than Max and Laura. ... read more That doesn't imply that I did not enjoy the musical. The set designs were very impressive and well as the choreography. I would certainly recommend it to everyone. |

Our First Broadway Show Was Awesome! Review by: Williams Family, Oct 4, 2007 |
| My husband and our two daughters were avid watchers (and voters) of the Grease Reality Show, and were thrilled when Max and Laura were voted the winners. We planned our vacation around going to see Grease on Broadway and traveled to New York in August to see the show. It was our first Broadway Show ever, so we were excited to attend one. It was a wonderful overall performance, but it seemed that the supporting cast, especially the women,... read more, overpowered Laura's presence and you kind of forgot she was the star of the show. Max on the other hand acted and performed like a star, he was amazing! I don't feel that it was necessarily Laura's performance but the demeanor her character needed to posess to play the role of Sandy. Her supporting actresses had much better roles and the opportunity to shine, they were all wonderful. I would like to see Laura in another role before I decided on her ability to succeed as a Broadway star, I think she is very talented and has great potential. As far as Grease is concerned, Laura was kind of pushed to the back burner by the roles and talents of all the other actors and actresses. After the show, the cast graciously signed autographs and posed and smiled for picture after picture and Laura and Max stayed until the last autographed was signed and picture was taken. I was very impressed by their willingness to acknowledge their fans, I hope they are able to maintian that character as they become great stars!! |

Grease Fan fro 30 years Review by: , Oct 3, 2007 |
| Saw all 3, 30 years ago, 10 years ago and this one was the best. Laura and Max make the play along with the whole cast. As people were leaving the theater they were commenting on how great it was and would not be the same without Laura and Max. A must see for all |

| Do not listen to the reveiws. If you are going to nit pick on things then you will find something wrong with all the shows. This show was very enjoyable and so much fun. Max and Laura really did a great job. Max has come a long way from being on Tv. He did a great job with the dance numbers. Go see it you won't be sorry. |

Don't go by the reviews Review by: T$, Oct 1, 2007 |
| I saw the matinee on 9/29 for my gf's birthday. We both watched the reality show and were looking forward to this. First of all after reading all the reviews I was expecting it to be terrible. It was far from it, now it wasn't the best show you'll ever see in NYC but it was good. It was fun and entertaining the whole time, with a few jokes thrown in. It was nice knowing the whole backstory of the characters, Max and Laura both did a great ... read more job imo. Max has really polished himself, he was even one of the best dancers out there. Again the production wasn't perfect but it was very good, well worth the money. |

Disappointing Review by: Reviewer, Sep 30, 2007 |
I had been an avid watcher of the Grease reality show and had looked foward to see Max and Laura on stage. Unfortunatly, I had been disappointed. Laura's voice was as excellent as ever, but her acting wasn't. Her acting was fake and much too overdone. She spoke in an octave higher than the one she had used after the show when speaking to fans outside the stage door. She does not seem like a Broadway lead actress, but she would do ... read more very well in the chorus. Max had improved so much that it was unbelievable. His singing had been poilshed and his acting was wonderful. There was also no chemistry at all between Laura and Max. They did not seem like Sandy and Danny who loved each other. They performed in a way that you couldn't believe that they were. The rest of the cast, who were not picked from the reality show, were much better and more professional. The best female singer in the cast was Jenny Powers, who played Rizzo. Her acting, however, made Rizzo seem much more bitter than necessary. Overall, it was rather like a really really really good high school performance of Grease.

Laura and Max are Great....Grease is the one Review by: loulegal, Sep 23, 2007 |
| Just saw Grease with my 10 year old. Loved it I think the chemistry betweeen Max and Laura makes it. The cast is a bit old but very talented. The entire ensemble seems to have great fun.The musical numbers are great and the Dancing by Max is energetic. Laura hits solid notes on her solo. I have seen many editions of this show. I think this ranks at the top. The staging is solid and the cast fantastic. If you want true entertainment you ... read more will love it. Grease is the one you wantA |

See it for the love of Grease, but that is it. Review by: , Sep 20, 2007 |
| I agree with the reviewers that say it seemed like a high school production.I would say a bit better though. I was also disappointed in the casting. My girlfriend even laughed when the show started as the T-birds came out for the first number. All-in-all it is Grease and Grease is an awesome play, but they could have done it way better. See it for the love of Grease, but that is it. |

Grease is AWFUL. Review by: N, Sep 17, 2007 |
| Just saw Grease yesterday. And it was the day of Broadway on Broadway so you'd think there would be extra energy. This is one of the worst Broadway shows I've seen and I've seen quite a few. Cast was really bad. Max and Laura seem like nice people. But, they belong on cruise ships not on W47th street. The Tbirds were awful. There's this one fat guy who overacts everyting. I think we're all supposed to give him credit for being able to ... read more land the role given his obesity, but it's distracting and ridiculous. Kenickie, Rizzo, Jan, Doody....awful. Frenchie is the one in the cast who's not so bad. Neither is teen angel. The teacher was terrible, Vince Fontaine, terrible. Marty looks like Marilyn Monroe. And Sandy should be blonde. Set was a joke. Costumes were a joke. Not one poodle skirt. And the Pink Ladies didn't wear pink. Some art director got their way. For that money to see Hairspray. Grease was awful. Not at all worth the money or the hype. It will close after Christmas for sure. |
