| I loved this play. I've seen a few different productions of it and the Broadway version was obviously the best. I saw the play on Hunter Parrish's last day and if you could go back in time I would say to see it with him. But go see it while you can! |

| Godspell was a very disappointing play. A couple of the characters had good singing voices but thats about it. The story was all over the place and the theater was filled with all teeny boppers. I suggest the play only to young teens who want to see something silly. Otherwise it was a zero to me and my friend, and we walked out at intermission and out of all the musicals we have seen, this is only the second one we have walked out on it was ... read more so horrible. |

| This was the first time I saw Godspell (with Corbin Bleu in the lead), and the first time I experienced "theater in the round" in NYC. I enjoyed it! I had great seats, which contributed positively to the experience - but really, there's not a bad seat in the place. Cast was great, and while the songs were "ok" (for me) I did enjoy the performances and would recommend it for a good night of theater. |

| GODSPELL is the most amazing show on Broadway! It truly has the most talented cast I have every seen in one show. CORBIN BLEU is absolutely amazing as Jesus! This truly is a show not to be missed. The music, the acting, the story line is appropriate for the whole family. You actually don't want the show to end. You leave there feeling absolutely wonderful. Don't even hesitate, buy your tickets today. I have now seen this show 4 times! |

This was our first show that we have seen at the "Circle in the Square" Theatre. The venue is unique in that the stage is a circle, surrounded by the audience. We had front row seats and really enjoyed the show.
The singing and the songs were great, very moving, touching. It seemed as if the show was updated from the original production and included references to current events, famous personalities and a few lines from recent pop music. ... read more Having said that the original score remained intact and was beautifully performed.
This was a real fun show at times there was minor audience participation and, being in the front row, a few times a couple of the actors talked to my wife and I, in character. This was a very memorable and enjoyable show, highly recommended.

| Corbin Bleu is fantastic as Jesus, and the rest of the cast and musicians are all fabulous. I know nothing about the bible so some of the show was over my head, but regardless, it was extremely entertaining and SO much fun! Go see it! |

I loved this GODSPELL!!! It may be the most talented cast I've ever seen in this show and the staging is downright brilliant for theater-in-the round. Hunter Parrish's rendition of "Beautiful city" was the highlight of the show for me.

I saw the original Broadway production 40 years ago and was afraid this might be a mere rehash. I was wrong! This recent incarnation is fresh, vibrant, and newly relevant.

A familiarity with the New Testament and parables of Jesus will certainly help in understanding the plot, but not absolutely necessary.
As far as political humor goes, they should also work the President into the plot too.

| We took the whole family with discount tickets, and that's definitely the way to see this one. The other reviewers make clear, this isn't a traditional Broadway show, but the singing is excellent, as is the score and the orchestra. I thought Hunter Parrish was a bit bland as Jesus, but my daughter strongly disagreed! There are reasons that this show has been a staple of high school and regional productions for years: there is no scenery, thrift store costumes, and the cast looks and acts like fifteen year olds, which is probably not much younger than most of them really are.
This show might be cute if performed off-Broadway or in a church basement, but to be on Broadway and at Broadway prices--I felt like I was had. I felt like I was seeing pre-teens ... read more playing at dress up. |

Godspell is a joy!
An incredible 2 1/2 hours of entertainment, inspiration, great songs, blast off voices on the cast and something magical...
The magic is seeing audiences of every age and every background respond.
The one small segment that does not get Godspell are folks that want to see traditional theater. They do not want to be touched across the audience/stage line.

In an effort to be hip and current the dialogue is a painful mix of Donald Trump, Charlie Sheen references which simply do not work. At one point a disciple resembling Oprah says "You get a Messiah, You get a Messiah, You get a Messiah".
