Sorry I went Review by: Legs, May 14, 2010 |
| Hard to believe this is still running. It is unpleasant, trite, annoyingly predictable. Rather than hold up a bit of humanity to give us perspective and ask us to laugh at ourselves, this play seems to invite the audience to merely feel smugly superior to the foursome on stage. And is it really necessary for one of the characters to vomit? Not funny, not worth the time or money. |

Great Acting Review by: goldenboy, May 2, 2010 |
With its current cast--its a great night of acting. Janet McTeer and Dylan Baker are remarkable. See it for the amazing acting. Lots of fun and this cast rocks. |

Great Play! Must See Review by: Yaya331, Mar 29, 2010 |
| This play is amazing! I purchased tickets because they were half price and more than got my money's worth! Janet McTeer who plays Veronica is amazing! Her passion is just amazing! Dylan Baker who plays Alan is hilarious as the sarcastic lawyer. Jeff Daniels is also terrific as the hamster hating husbans of Veronica. The only person I was disappointed in was Lucy Liu. She is an OK actor but can't hold a candle to the other three amazing,... read more, wonderful actors in this cast. This is a comedy and you will be laughing out loud! Highly recommended (especially if you can get half price tickets!) |

Funny show...very entertaining Review by: DMfan16, Mar 4, 2010 |
Saw it with cast of Jeff Daniels, Lucy Liu, Dylan Baker and Janet McTeer and they were all perfectly cast. There were a few "dead" moments, but all in all really enjoyed this play and laughed lots!! |

A waste of time, money and talent! Review by: Shar, Feb 27, 2010 |
| Saw this show today, we should have stayed home and rented a movie! The draw for us was the the all-star cast, which by the way changes tomorrow. Jimmy Smits, Annie Potts, Christine Lahti and Ken Stott did as well as they could with the material they had to work with. The first 15 - 20 minutes were very monotone and slow moving. Even when the pace picked up slightly it was almost painful to watch. I found the premise to be far-fetched and out of ... read more touch with reality. Most of the audience managed to force some laughter (I think to keep themselves awake). But for the most part it wasn't spontaneous, except for the people seated behind us, for some strange reason they found the show to be hysterical. They were truly the exception. Also, the sound needs more amplification, with many audience members asking others to repeat what was said. I was praying for an intermission, 90 minutes of pure torture! Then it had an abrupt ending without tying up the weak storyline. Everyone around us sat quietly for a moment or two, not knowing exactly how to react. Don't waste your time or money, there are many great shows to see. |

Where's the beef? Review by: LD, Jan 31, 2010 |
I know, I know. It won the Tony and Ms. Reza is considered one of the best playwrights, and it supposed to be very, very funny. Well it is somewhat funny but soon becomes almost tiresome. These people are very annoying and thank God they are fictional parents. A farce its not unless throwing up is considered farce. A situation comedy? Not really. On the plus side Jimmy Smits,Annie Potts,Ken Stott and Christine Lahti ... read more (current cast) are all wonderful. Best part of the play? Michael's (Stott) mother- who never appears on stage.

Pump up the volume. please! Review by: what?, Jan 18, 2010 |
| It may be that years of Walkman and iPod use have wrecked my hearing, but I can see from previous reviews that I'm not alone in sharing the opinion that the actors can barely be heard beyond the first few rows of the theater. Management should definitely consider increasing volume through amplification. That being said, we're both big fans of Yasmina Reza's works, and God of Carnage does not disappoint. It is laugh-out-loud funny and ... read more well acted by an competent cast. Definitely recommended - just be prepared to really, really, really listen carefully. |

AWFUL Review by: jon aol, Jan 18, 2010 |
| This play was AWFUL!! It wasn't the acting, but perhaps the worst script of all time. Unless you want to spend a lot money and waste time of your life, don't bother to see this unfunny and idiotic play. If you do have to see this, please do half price admission. |

don't bother Review by: endoa, Jan 14, 2010 |
Aside from barely hearing the dialogue, I thought the show was quite amateurish. Ken Stott was particularly irritating. Whether it was his role or his acting I'm not quite sure, but his one liners were delivered so quickly and muffled, that I probably missed the entire thrust of the show. My wife and I just looked at each other as we left the theater and our unspoken message of ENC (emperor's new clothes) said it all. I'm just glad I ... read more didn't pay full price for a bargain production. |

From Wilde comedy to Wild farce Review by: Diract 66, Dec 1, 2009 |
| Saw this show with the original cast and it was a laugh a minute after the first twenty minutes. Of course this cast was great but I am sure the new cast is just as good. It is not the cast, it is the show, and this show builds so well that it goes from an Oscar Wilde drawing room comedy to a Marx Brothers movie in its no intermission ninety minutes. The set is minimal, almost like we are looking down into a fishbowl of these two couples lives.... read more. I think the audience was as exhausted as much as the actors on stage after this wild ride. Don't look for a lot of story, it is just a stimulus for a lot of action. A very enjoyable evening. I would se it again with the new cast and have a good laugh!!!!!!!!! |
