Ghost A Must See Review by: CSD, May 5, 2012 |
saw Ghost last night. I believe it is one of the best shows of the year! Ghost has it all; drama, comedy and romance. The special effects were awe inspiring. I wondered how anyone could fill Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Woopie Goldberg’s shoes, but Richard Fleeshman, Cassie Levy and Sharon D Clarke were made for the parts of Sam, Molly and Oda Mae Brown in the new updated rock version of Ghost. The entire score was fabulous. ... read more There were times you could hear a pin drop in the packed audience. The entire cast deserves honorable mention. I loved, loved, loved this show and will see it again.

The audience gave the cast a standing ovation and did not want to leave Review by: ColonelJohn, May 3, 2012 |
My wife and i saw ghost on a Wednesday afternoon. The audience gave the cast a standing ovation at the end and would have happily assisted in tarring and feathering the critics who panned the show. The production was excellent with no associated weaknesses. The special effects, music, lighting, acting, singing and dancing were superb. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Is this one of the best Broadway shows of all time? the answer is no. Would I ... read more recommend it to anyone. The answer is emphatically yes. |

A bit disappointing Review by: Izz, May 2, 2012 |
| I expected to be pulled into the wonderful story of Ghost, but that didn't happen. 'Molly''s singing is technically perfect but she never touched my heart. The show has so many flashy special effects that it distracts from the story. The music is ok, not great. |

Review by: Sadie, May 1, 2012 |
GHOST is wonderful! I can't find the words to describe how superb this is. True to the film but with so much more. Lovied the cast, the four leads are brilliant and Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy as the lovers, Sam and Molly are heartbreakingly great together. The acting, singing, dancing, all terrific. the special effects are mindblowing. Whether you loved the film or not, see Ghost, you will love it! Uplifting and totally unforgettable.... read more. If you're in NYC, see it. Dollars well spent. |

Special effects on stage like nothing I have seen before! Review by: Flygirl, Apr 30, 2012 |
I recently saw the show and enjoyed it. The critics did not like the show however the audience loves it. The special effects are unbelievable. The movie was typecast as a "chick flick" however the theater production is suitable for all. The music did not knock me out of my seat however the male lead has a fantastic voice. The dance numbers were so...so... There was not a dry eye in the house even though everyone ... read more knew the storyline. I would highly recommend the show.

Can't wait to see it again Review by: Peafowl, Apr 27, 2012 |
| Saw it the other night and it was excellent. Great music, great story, and out of this world special effects. Standing ovation with a second call. Can't wait to see it again next time I'm in New York. |

Ghost--Critics Wrong Again Review by: PAEM, Apr 26, 2012 |
| Pay no attention to those critics behind the curtain...A delightful evening of theater. Excellent performances, strong voices and dazzling stage effects make for a thoroughly entertaining musical. Here's hoping that audiences will ignore the negative reviews and make this production a Broadway hit. I'm planning to see it again soon. |

Just believe and go! Review by: Kim, Apr 25, 2012 |
| I went to see this over the Easter weekend and loved it. The theater was full and everyone there seemed transfixed by the show. The emotions expressed by Molly and Sam were perfect. As other's have noted, Ode Mae is exceptional. But what really makes the show is the technical aspects. Cannot be beat anywhere on Broadway. Just because you know the movie does not mean that you know the show. I love the music and listen to it constantly. ... read more I defy anyone not to feel the emotions Cassie Levy puts into "With You" or Richard Fleeshman puts into "I Had a Life." |

Don't be scared of this "Ghost" Review by: MARS, Apr 24, 2012 |
| A friend of mine saw the show and insisted that I do the same. Although I was a fan of the movie, I was reluctant to see a musical adaption of the movie. Lately, Broadway has seen its movie adaptions where some work and some do not. With great hesitation, I entered the theatre expecting a trite retelling of the movie with musical numbers interpolated at times. BOY WAS I WRONG! This musical is touching, moving, silly at times, ... read more flashy and cutting edge. The special effects produced live on stage were tremendous, the emotional connection between Oda Mae and Sam was tension filled but yet cordial, whereas the relationship between Sam and Molly was solid and real. Overall, the production was outstanding and deserving of a Tony nod. With hesitation I entered the theatre, with joy I left the theatre. It is true, just believe and the love in heart will travel with you. Outstanding production! It will stay with me for a long time. |

a Re-peatable show Review by: one_love, Apr 23, 2012 |
| FANTASTIC. Ordinarily you'd think "another movie musical" but it is fantastic. Sure you know the story, but the songs/acting/special effects are fantastic. You will laugh/cry and everything inbetween in this show. Definately a repeat show for me...and I've seen everything. Don't pass this theatre just because an "A-list" celebrity is in it. |

Wow - What an incredible Show! Review by: Carolina - Pam, Apr 21, 2012 |
Ghost was entertaining right from the 1st scene. The show touches your heart and emotions including sadness, humor, love, happiness, and laughter. The special effects were unbelievable, the best I have ever seen, it left you wondering how they did them. The cast members were superb and the songs and the singing were beautiful. This Broadway play was even more enjoyable than the movie. I have seen over 20 Broadway shows and this one goes to the ... read more top of my list. No emotion, just crass noise. Review by: Old Sarge, Apr 21, 2012 |
Big disappointment! GHOST isn't the sensative romantic musical we're led to believe. The music is very loud and not very good, the show is crass, and the "sets" are flashed on the stage, rapid-fire, like watching today's attention-deficit-disorder movies whereby things flash right and ledft every two seconds. No time or reason to care about these people or their difficult situation. |

Watch the movie instead Review by: Jem, Apr 19, 2012 |
Would much rather watch the movie. This story just does not work as a musical. Some of the musical numbers were boring or just didn't fit at all. I didn't feel any chemistry between Sam & Molly. The actress playing Oda Mae Brown was terrific. Most of the scenes with her made up for some of the more lackluster scenes. They gave her a song that was just awful, though, singing "I'm Outta Here" after getting the money. The choreography and ... read more lyrics were just awful in that song and it didn't flow well with the story. The actors playing Sam and Carl were very good, they did their best with what they had to work with. The ensemble dance scenes mostly fell flat. Special effects were great, but this unfortunately doesn't make the show worthwhile. Some of the lights were blinding. They shined right into our eyes and I had to close my eyes or look away. One scene had a strobe light affect that was a bit overwhelming and I saw some elderly people walk out because of it. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you are a theater buff in NYC and curious to see the special effects for it's uniqueness (and get a discount!). Other than the special effects and the performance by Da'vine Joy Randolph (Oda Mae Brown), this show is just not worth it. |

Review by: Janet123, Apr 14, 2012 |
This show is truly awesome. The cast lead by the fantastic Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy as Sam and Molly are wonderful, the visual effects (I just don't know how it's possible to do those things on stage, magical and amazing). The entire cast, the music, the script, beautiful. I laughed, I cried and I just want to go right back and see it again. Seeing is believing!

Ghost: A Little Transparent Review by: Jackie, Apr 8, 2012 |
| Everyone knows the movie. So that shouldn't be a negative. The best part of the show are the visual effects. The actors were satisfactory. Actress playing Oda Mae Brown (portrayed by Whoopi in the movie) had a shining moment or two. The music is to loud which has the leading lady (who has a good voice) yelling her lyrics. It's a satisfactory show. |
