A+++++++++++++++++++++ Review by: MadisonMichelle, Oct 9, 2008 |
| This show was absolutely amazing. It was better than the broadway shows i saw and it should be on Broadway. The lead actor completely embodied Fela's spirit and voice. The dancers were mezmerizing! Hopefully this show will come back...and to broadway next time because everyone should see it! |

Great music & choreography, and an infectious spirit Review by: Clay, Aug 17, 2008 |
I knew nothing about the man, Fela Kuti, before this show but was drawn to the production because of Bill T. Jones (director and choreographer). Fela! has more the feel of an Afrobeat concert than a documentary/ one-man show. Be prepared to stand, sing chant, and have a great time for the 2.5 hour show. The lead actor is a very strong singer (and other audience members who had seen Fela Kuti live mentioned that he had captured ... read more Fela's remarkable spirit). The dancing/choreography is tremendous. The on-stage band is truly terrific. Make a trip to 37 Arts and have a great time. |
