VANESSA A NO SHOW!! Review by: Disappointed fan, Apr 4, 2011 |
| We were at the Sat April 2, 2011 performance at 8 pm. NO VANESSA REDGRAVE!! We came from Michigan and Colorado and felt completely deflated. The play itself is predictable and not worth the price without the full cast. We were stunned that she wasn't there - utterly disappointed. |

True, great cast, but not a great play Review by: CloverCat, Jan 18, 2011 |
| It seems that every review I see gushes about Jones and Redgrave. Sure, they are fine actors giving fine performances, but the fauning over them seems a bit extreme. These are not overly demanding roles. Moreover, the play itself is only good, not great; it's just a pastiche of interactions among the three characters over the course of many years, without any great conflict or complexity. Finally, as others have pointed out, the staging ... read more is extremely simple, and the car is kind of silly--not much more than a bench. I don't mean to overly criticize. Again, the acting is fine, and the show is pleasant enough. But, it seems more like a show for tourists who want to ogle Hollywood royalty. For those who are looking for cutting-edge, edgy, or innovative theater, this is not really the show to see. |

Not to be missed Review by: mdbennett7, Oct 15, 2010 |
| One for the ages, everyone should see this show, I felt privileged and honored to be in the audience of "Driving Miss Daisy", and to witness James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave on stage – it doesn’t get any better. Big plus – none of the actors we wearing head mics – these are true actors on stage. A stunning experience. |

Extraordinary Night at the Theater Review by: Carol, Oct 13, 2010 |
The play is staged imaginatively with minimal scenery and no costuming except for Boyd Gaines in this blockbuster play. The focus here is on James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave, as well it should be. Their performances are outstanding. The ages of audience members spanned three and four generations. The story of an aging Jewish matron, and her old black chauffeur still rings true. The acting is spot on, and the adoring ... read more audience certainly paid homage to these veteran actors. |
