Great show! Enjoyed it so much I went back for a second performance! Review by: Caruso, Dec 27, 2010 |
| I had never seen Donny and Marie in concert before, I wasn't sure what to expect but I truly enjoyed the show...including the vintage clips. Many of the clips are played when there is a costume change for the stars. Donny and Marie put on a high energy show, complete with backup dancers and share all styles of music (Rock, Country, Classical, Pop, Christmas) It seems to be their Vegas show with Christmas songs added, but I was glad to ... read more hear their hits instead of the same old Christmas songs that every performer sings year after year. I enjoyed the show so much, I even went back for second performance. (It's cheaper than flying to Vegas.) |

Very entertaining...in spite of some of the other reviews! Review by: showgal, Dec 26, 2010 |
| There were six of us who went to see Donny & Marie on Christmas day and although it's true there was some Las Vegas thrown in there...we loved it! Actually, I was already prepared because of the previous reviews, and I was not disappointed. We got to enjoy a little bit of Christmas, a little bit of Las Vegas (because it is after all a BROADWAY Christmas show)...and they entertained the audience with their pleasant personalities and sense ... read more of humor. Initially the guys in the group dreaded going...but in the end they admitted it was better than expected. I guess the key to everything in life is to keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed...and perhaps in the end you may be pleasantly surprised! |

If you like Donny and Marie, go see it. Review by: The Man, Dec 21, 2010 |
| The two other reviews I just read on this site are on target and it was primarily highlights of the Las Vegas show and there were probably too many clips from their past work. But if you like Donny and Marie you should still see the show. I got the tickets through TDF and thought I got my money's worth. I knew what I was getting into and was not disappointed. They seemed to want to please the audience and I believe most people in the ... read more audience enjoyed the show. |

Don't waste your time or money on this one Review by: Lynn, Dec 17, 2010 |
I was very excited to see this show, not only to see Donny and Marie but also to get myself in the Christmas spirit. This show is truly the oddest thing I've seen on a stage (and I've seen at least 100 Broadway shows). They sang only FOUR Christmas songs. It basically seems to be the Vegas show, and is completely over the top. Although they gave 100% on the stage, the most effort put in the planning of this show was getting their plane tickets ... read more to New York. You are forced to watch clips about their career, their family, the people they've worked with, etc. They actually play a short clip of Stevie Wonder when he was on their talk show because it was evidently one of the greatest days of Donny's life. I'm not sure but I'd think with all his years in the business, he'd realize he's supposed to give the audience memories, not force us watch his. The set is downright embarrassing. Marie changes continuously throughout the show and, although she looks great, she doesn't know the meaning of a "quick change" and was late for every entrance, forcing some very odd moments with the band and dancers. Honestly, it's awful. Unless you consider just laying eyes on Donny and Marie money well spent, don't go! I spent $100. for tickets and feel very taken advantage of. Donny and Marie should be ashamed of themselves and if they really cared about their audience they wouldn't put their names on this poorly put together show and would have learned a few Christmas songs. |

Very disappointed. Review by: kim, Dec 13, 2010 |
| First let me say that I am a huge Donny and Marie fan. I went to this show expecting a wonderful array of Christmas music from their albums with maybe a few new songs. I was there on the first night they opened. The audience was very gracious and lively. The theatre perfect for the show. The only lacking was the content of the show. For over hundred dollar tickets, I do not want to see endless video clips of their past shows and ... read more accomplishments. I can easily go to YouTube. Marie's part of the show was longer than Donny's and I will say she is fantastic at moving in her high heels. When Donny sang, it was like pure heaven. Incredible clear beautiful voice. But he sang little snipets of great songs and gave a full production number to Crazy Horses...a song made famous by his brother. Marie spent every set trying to fix her ear piece and that got very annoying. So very lack luster and to me not at all what was advertised. It is not a Christmas Show but a few songs and mostly video and chit chat about Dancing with the Stars. |
