Andrew Garfield Shines; Play Peters Out in 2nd Act Review by: Bill from Long Beach, Jun 1, 2012 |
| Loved the first act, but it really bogs down in the second act. Andrew Garfield does an incredible job...he ripped my heart out in his last big scene of the play. Some great performances, but the second act left me flat. Glad I saw this American classic, but was hoping it would have been better. |

Classic production of an American classic! Review by: Ron T, Mar 17, 2012 |
| Director Mike Nichols's decision to use the original set design and music was a great idea. It provides a vision of what theatergoers experienced when seeing this classic for the first time in 1949. I don't agree with any criticism of Hoffman being too young to play Willy Loman. Hoffman is nine years older than when Lee J. Cobb originated the role. I've seen a few productions of this play and have to say this one will stay with me longer ... read more than any other. Linda's confrontation with her boys, Willy's reaction when being caught in the hotel room by Biff, and Willy's climatic scene with Biff in the final act were all played perfectly. This is a production not to be missed. |

Meh Review by: trainerbill, Mar 14, 2012 |
| He's too young to play the part, she's pretty good, the boys are just OK. Kinda overacted. I saw Dennehey do it and it was great. Don't knock yourself out to see it. |

| tHIS SHOW HAS TREMENDOUS TALENT. it is a riveting drama with laughs throughout. It was a sellout crowd that gave a standing ovation with booming applause and cheers.Philip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield will be up for Tony's. The set design was very clever. I was in awe by the entire performance plus it flew by. Do not miss it! |

Wonderful production. Review by: RbexM, Feb 28, 2012 |
| Superb acting. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was captivating. I felt Linda Emond's portrayal was pale in comparison to that of the actors that surrounded her, but the intensity and conviction that was present in the production overall is worth seeing. Highly recommended. |

| went to see on the 14th - excellent production - fine acting. Biff acting a bit immature (but then that's part of the point). |

Not Perfect But Good Production Review by: Jim-NY, Feb 14, 2012 |
This is a great American play with top-notch actors. It is certainly worth seeing but it is not without some shortcomings. Linda Emond gives a strong performance but it looks identical to Mildred Dunnock's or Kate Reid's in many ways. Philip Seymour Hoffman have given a strong performance but not of the depth of Lee J. Cobb's. The role of Biff should have more sophistication to it, which is required for comments he needs to make in later ... read more scenes. Still a good production. |
