EXCELLENCE IS FOREVER! Review by: RALPHIE, Jan 4, 2008 |
Simply a great play which can be enjoyed every 25 years or so. I can't say enough good about this version. I might recommend you see it, but it closes in 2 days regardless.
I had a carefully chosen 1st row seat for THE LION KING which I let somebody else use so I could attend CYRANO. It was a wise choice.
One negative: The politically correct casting. Having an agenda ought not be a part of casting a play. Get over it! |

Bravo Jennifer!!!! Review by: Lynn, Dec 30, 2007 |
| This show was excellent!! Kevin Kline and company put on an amazing performance. Very amusing and entertaining. I am a huge Jennifer Garner fan, and I am glad to say that she puts on a great show in the movies and live on stage. |

okay ... wish I would have seen something else Review by: aperson, Dec 27, 2007 |
| I saw 3 shows while I was in New York ... Cyrano, Wicked, and Walmartopia. Cyrano was my least favorite. We had seats in the S Orchestra section and they were crowed and uncomfortable; I couldn't see the stage that well so not seeing facial expressions probably affected my enjoyment of the show. The sets were not exciting and there was not much music; it was a non musical play. Kevin Kline did an outstanding job as Cyrano. Jennifer Garner ... read more was overdramatic, but ok. The character playing Christian was good too. I wish I would have seen something else for my $120 per seat instead of this one. |

Fantastic Show- lots of laughter and romance! Review by: Kimberly, Dec 22, 2007 |
| The show was fantastic!! Kevin Kline was at his best, while Daniel Sunjata carried his character confidently and with such humor. Jennifer Garner is without question, loveable and genuine. Her mock innocence and quick wit suits her well. The show was over far too quickly. We loved it! |

Very Good Review by: Terry, Dec 11, 2007 |
Wonderful production, I enjoyed all the leads, especially Kevin Kline, who can do no wrong.
Jennifer Garner was very good, much better than other movie actresses who have tried Broadway, including Julianne Moore and Julia Roberts.
Daniel Sunjata was good as well.
And Jennifer was nice enough to sign autographs afterwards, while Kline & Sunjata were nowhere to be seen. |

A Play With Panache Review by: NedRacine, Oct 20, 2007 |
I had read Cyrano de Bergerac in school and saw the movies, and so I knew the plot. Still I anticipated the Drama of seeing it performed as a play, and was very pleased with the result. Cyrano (Kevin Kline) was very strong and delivered this difficult role. I say difficult because Cyrano is more than a real person; he is a man of most extraordinary talents. In fact, whether fighting 100 men, or creating sumptuous love letters, he could seem ... read more almost like a cartoon character, but Kline brings him down to earth while still maintaining a little panache. Roxanne(Jennifer Garner) and Christian(Daniel Sunjata) also gave great performances. The cavernous Richard Rodgers Theatre was an ideal venue for this bigger than life adventure. The sets were fitting and the lighting really added a lot of atmosphere. My only criticism with the lighting was that I thought it should have faded more on Cyrano while he "read" his love poem with Roxanne in the final scene, as the sunlight was supposed to have been fading at that point. However, this was a small eddy in a sea of superlatives. Go see this play! |
