Not my favorite Tharp work Review by: hotprofessor, Feb 3, 2012 |
| I liked Movin Out much better. Being a dancer I wanted more, like what I saw in Movin Out. |

Waste of Good Money Review by: Mick, Jan 19, 2012 |
| Saw the show in Chicago. Save the money for the over-priced tickets and get a good bottle of wine, pop in a Sinatra CD, and enjoy the same music in the comfort of your own home. Dancers were ho-hum and routines were very repetitious. Thought there would be live singing or something else than what was offered. Even though the musical is titled "Come Fly Away", Sinatra's classic song "Come Fly with Me" was never even played. Either was "My Kind of ... read more Town" which would have been great since the show is in Chicago. Over-all waste of good money. |

DISGRACEFUL! Review by: Disappointed, Nov 13, 2011 |
Sadly, the worst show we have ever seen! The choreography was awful! There was no wardrobe change until the very end, when they FINALLY depicted the era (little too late). It was as if they had borrowed artists from Flo's diner, to Grease, to Little House on the prairie and lumped a bunch of gymnasts all together - truly! What a terrible disappointment and absolute insult to Frank Sinatra and his beautiful music. None of the dancing,... read more, matched any of the songs...and the cast was a mixed clump from the 50's, 70's and 21st century. Initially, I expected beautiful gowns, three piece suits...more mature dancers. One gal performed with a make-shift Victoria secret shorty pajama top!!! Absolutely disgraceful, distasteful and again, an insult to Broadway!

| Did not know what to expect. Was waiting for some sort of story line, but there was none. Just 80 minutes of dancing to Sinatra's songs and that was about it. Sinatra's songs are classics and the dancers were good, we just expected a little more. |

| I saw this show and found it boring. Yes, the dancing was good but repetitive. I wanted to "Fly" out of the theatre but sat through it bored. I wished I would of spent my money on a better show. I will next time. |

Needed More Variety in Choreography Review by: Carol, Aug 22, 2010 |
| It's a pity that Twyla Tharp did not use her dancers to the best advantage in this show. As talented as they are, and as moving Sinatra's music is, often what the dancers did was repetitious and did not reflect the music. At the end of the first act they should have been jitterbugging instead of doing the same lifts and splits that they started with. It was a limited range. |

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible - Gives Broadway a Bad Name. Seriously. Review by: JulieandTodd, Jul 24, 2010 |
Horrible, awful show. Just average dancing to Frank Sinatra. Imagine a group of your friends dancing to Frank Sinatra and trying to be cool. This is exactly how to explain 'Come Fly Away'. 'Fly away' from this disaster. Watch any other musical or play, but this.

Review by: Keen, Jul 23, 2010 |
| Not your "ordinary" broadway musical, but brilliantly staged, choreographed and directed. It is a piece of art. Except for the repetitive section that lasted about 5-6 minutes which did not have my attention, I was truly engaged in this experience. Bravo, Twyla, for creating a NEW kind of broadway and gave us something new and different. Absolutely fantastic dancers/performers. It was a fulfilling experience. |

JUST FLY AWAY Review by: BigKen, Jun 22, 2010 |
| Although the dancing was incredibly good and the music nastalgic and upbeat, I kept looking at my watch hoping that the end was in sight. I went with a large group and most enjoyed it, but for me it was so similar to getting a root canal. One woman bought the soundtract and was hoping to hear it on the bus ride back, but I just told her that I was "Sinatrad Out!" I didn't hate it...I just didn't like it alot. |

| I never write reviews, but this show was so bad that I feel the need to warn others. Going to broadway shows and muscials is a passion of mine and I can honestly say I have never gone to a show and regretted it - until now. This show had no soul, story line, and did Frank a huge disservice. I also love dance, but not as seen here. It truly was the same choreography over and over. The movememnts did not match or relate to the music whatsoever, ... read more and they added slapstick gimmicks to hold your interest, like a dancer ranting in a foregein language (I think), and a guy taking his pants off. I expected something more like Jersey Boys or Mamma Mia where you take Frank's best songs and create a story line around it. I do like the idea of telling a story through dance, but this told us nothing. It was a bunch of people running back and forth, changing partners, no real star, extremely dissapointing. If you are going to the theater, I would literally see anything but this. |

| Although the music and dancing were amazing, I have to agree with others it did not hold my interest for 2 hours. It would have been so much better if they had included a Frank Sinatra story line (like Jersey boys). |

Review by: old sarge, May 27, 2010 |
This show offers very little for your time and money. With NO dialog and NO story, the swing-around dance routines become repetitious and boring. :The dancing tells the story? How silly is that? The dancing is NOT all that good anyway. Sure it's slam-around hyper-active, but it's thesame thing over and over. There was very little applause. When they did the curtain call, was the applause for Frank Sinatra or for the dancers? Frank, of course,... read more, was a no-show. |

Go See Billy Elliot Instead Review by: Santa Cruzer, May 17, 2010 |
| Had trouble staying awake. Zero dialogue, faint storyline delivered via dance and Frank Sinatra songs. The dancers are mostly classically trained and excellent, but they are stuck in a silly staging idea that might have been good for half an hour but definitely can't sustain a Broadway show. |

Too Bad Review by: , May 14, 2010 |
| Sorry to say, this was probably the worst B'dway show we've seen. Music was great, but it ends there. Don't waste your money; we did. Good dancers, poor story to follow. |

WOW!! Review by: keliza52, May 2, 2010 |
| Loved it! Best dancing I have ever seen. It takes a few minutes but eventually you start to follow the storyline through the dancers. High energy. Frank's songs sounded exceptional and the woman singing along with the orchestra was phenomenal! |
