Super acrobats, bad songs, bad pacing, weak story line (unnecessary) Review by: , Apr 23, 2009 |
| I just saw this yesterday, and was disappointed. But I didn't realize it was not affiliated with Cirque du Soleil. My expectations would have been lower going in. The acrobats and performers were great, but the pace in between with the awful singing and lyrics was not good. And the tree guy I just found silly and distracting. Some of the acrobats went on too long. They needed more variety, shorter segments, and NOOOOO transitional singing ... read more which totally killed the pace and magic. The story made little sense, and was unnecessary. The beauty and magic of the acrobats was plenty, and the focus should have been on them the whole time. I felt sorry for the main guy, because he was obviously super talented, but that got muddled by the story line and transitional singing. Just let the guy do his thing and amaze us. I would have saved my dollars for a real Cirque Du Soleil if I'd known better. |

Judging by the mixed reviews, I went in with low expectations. That being said, I was thoroughly impressed. This is a great show and the talent is incredible. Highly Recommended!!!! |

Must See Review by: ,, Aug 16, 2008 |
| Great Show! All acts performed are of extreme difficulty. Beatuful decorations. On the same level (if not higher) as some of the better Cirque du Soliel shows. |

Review by: bravo, Jul 31, 2008 |
Cirque Dreams was amazing, the decor of the stage, the sounds of the violin, the acrobatic ability of the dancers, the costumes of the animals and forest trees and flowers touched me. People around me were cheering and clapping the whole time. Every moment presented a different aspect of the jungle dream. Bravo ! |

Avoid at all costs! Review by: , Jul 30, 2008 |
| I went in with high expectations, and the show did not dissapoint, it was a disaster, exactly what i had expected it to be. With such skilled circus companies around the world, like Cirque de Soliel, I find it unfortunate that this is the one that made it to Broadway. There was no story, the music was uninteresting and pre-recorded, with the exception of one, all of the acts had been done before, contless times. I do not reccomend this show to ... read more any one over the age of 7. |

Disappointed Review by: VandyGirl, Jul 28, 2008 |
| I was hoping for Cirque du Soleil, I didn't get it. As long as you go into knowing that it's not that show, you'll enjoy it. It's worth seeing the show because the talent is actually quite good. They do amazing tricks and they are at the very least entertaining. The show itself is marginal, the vocals shreiking, and the story virtually non-existant. This is one show I don't need to see again-but mainly because I know what it could be..and ... read more it wasn't. |

A 7 out of 10 Review by: , Jul 24, 2008 |
| Overall, a pretty good show. Good, but not great. Took our 18 yr old daughter. We were looking for a show to see that was not your typical musical....just wanted to "do the Broadway experience". Costumes and stage settings were really good...excellent black light type of effects. No orchestra, but there was a good electric violin player who was roving around the stage during most of the show. Show was primarily acrobatics and light comedy antics.... read more. Nothing new I haven't seen before. Saw Cirque de Soleil in Vegas about 6 years ago... Jungle dreams was not quite as good, but comparable. Good show to take kids to... 7-8 yrs old....or anyone who may not be ready for a full scale musical. Theater was nice. Seating was a little tight, but doable. Was glad I went, but probably would not want to see again. Generally worth the time and money. Saw show on Mon 7/21/08 at Broadway Theater in NYC. |

Review by: Tink, Jul 13, 2008 |
I found Cirque Dreams very entertaining. I have seen two of the Cirque du soleil shows, which Dreams is not affiliated with. Dreams cannot totally compare to them as there is limited space for the performers. Taking that into consideration, there was ALOT of talent, strength, grace. Anyone who knows exactly how much strength it takes to execute the moves should enjoy it. Costumes were colorful and some very clever. Great balancing act in the ... read more show. One of my favorites was toward the end of the show, a group of 4/5 very buff gentlemen performing tremendous feats of strength, and I mean strength. Got discount tickets and felt it was very worth the money. Please do not expect the caliber of the Cirque du soleil and you will not be disappointed. A very enjoyable experience. Singing by Mother Nature seemed a bit too loud and sometimes words could not be understood. |
