Back from the Grave Review by: mickey, Feb 27, 2012 |
| The team did a great job revamping this piece and it works great on a small set with a minimal cast. The greatest credit goes to the design team for creating a simple set on which to project amazing visual trickery. Marin Mazzie is superb as the mom and there is no way this production could have worked wiithout such an ace performer in that role. The music, unfortunately, is not memorable so the show leaves you as soon as it's over. Some ... read more of the songs border on being shrill, but thanks to the emotional maturity the cast brings to the roles, one is willing to overlook it. The cast works hard and sings effectively. Kudos to 'Norma' for having the best supporting voice and creating the best defined background character. If your a fan of Carrie or just curious, go see it...though look for a discount...prices are way to steep for what you get in this production. |
